Well I know beforehand that he felt he was being specialed at an alarming rate. Maybe they found a more effective way to put the screws to him?
Its no reason to let this thread die.
Gill may have bolted under ground and hiding behind Paper-cutouts, and DD rumbled to another place but the same olds, doing the same old will continue until the lights go out.
I would keep an eye on Richard Budrewicz alsoā¦he ran horses under his name for Jay at Suffolk this season.
Sadly it appears that animal abuse, cruelty and cheating wins out again. And I just canāt figure it out why a guy like Gill would prefer to go that route. With the amount of decent horses this guy claimed and had in training/racing, he could have been winning well over 25 percent(instead of 14?) and set a new record of wins for an owner(which he craved) simply by being ethical and treating the horses like living breathing animals rather than some inanimate object. This is the type of trainers he seeks out(but he demands things done his way), therefore, they are a reflection of himself.
Just to give another perspective:
Being subpoened does NOT mean someone is going to be charged, or that there is any intent to charge them. It can also mean that the individual subpoened is believed to have pertinent information that they will be asked to attest to.
Just as a hypothetical, it is quite possible that a (hypothetical) well-informed ex-poster on this thread, who may have hypothetically started another blog, has pertinent information. In the course of things, such a hypothetical person would be asked to cease discussing any aspect of the pertinient info in any other arena than in court, in depositions, or some such.
IOW, donāt always assume that fear and intimidation have caused someone to be extremely discreet. There may be other very good reasons that will actually further the cause.
And, please, donāt stop posting here. I still think that this thread and itās very well-informed posters (you know who you are) have been doing the work of angels. I may be wrong about the effects of a subpoena, but Iām NOT wrong about this.
PS: After writing this post, Iām going to name my next horse āHypotheticalā.

Excuse my ignorance, but was does being āspecialedā mean? Thanks for all the other info you guys, very helpful.

i have a friend who has talked to hertz and he said they have a couple horses and theyve been at track training. my friend said something about either him or his wife needing surgery or something so it was going to be a light winter for the horses.
whether it was hertz or an act of god pennsylvania appears to be better off today on november 5 2010 than it was on november 5 2009. i do not think many people would stick their neck out the way he has. from what i know if hertz was told to take his blog down and shut up he would probably do the exact oposite so i think heās probably had a long year fighting his battle whether it was productive or not there arenāt too many people doing much to fix this sport is there?
The sold some and got same explinationā¦was to be a light winter for them.
What was this guy convicted of doing? Elk Creek is less than 1/2 mile from my little farm and our properties back up to each other. They have 45 acres, and I have almost 12. One of the dogs that his workers adopted showed up a few times at my farm and I returned him twice but let the rescue organization know. They ended up being returned, there were 2 dogs. Also during the time this dog lived at Elk Creek, he began killing cats which he didnāt do before.
Glen Hope Rd. is just a narrow back road and quiet area near Fair Hill. We sure donāt need felons living or working there. I hope he sells his farm soon, donāt need the likes of this creep there.
As Gill fades away (for now), there is a new one on the horizon. This one was an owner for years and then decided to be a trainer too he is running mainly at CT but claiming high priced claimers through out the region. Has a nice farm complete with vetrinarian rooms (like Elk Creek) and a controversal vet that makes a few visits a week. Most of his employees are racetrack rejects. He himself seldom if ever goes to his barn at the track or farm and relies on an assitant to do his work. He claims off of paper and instructs his employees when and where to go drop the claim slips they donāt even bother looking at them. Not on as large of a scale as Gill but his numbers go up and down depending on his mood. When he is done with one not quite the direct line to the kill pen like Gill, but they are free to whomever will take them.

Name, please?

Who would like one of the barn cats from Elk Creek Ranch? They will be removed perhaps this weekend, sterilized, vaccinated and need a home. It would be great to get some help paying for the sterilization at the clinic. Only $50 to sterilize the males and $70 for the females and that includes all vaccinations, deworming and flea treatment as well as the surgery.
Send me an email at TruckParts19311@aol.com if youāre interested in getting one or two of these cats. There may be up to 8 of them.

There was also a medium size long bushy haired dog there as well. He use to always lay out side in front of barn under some bushes. Friendly. Not sure what breed he was.
As for the cats, many of them lived above the stalls where the hay was stacked. If you enter through the double front doors, turn right at the second shedrow (just past the wash racks), back in there is an area where a large pile of fresh shavings were stored. The cats mainly lived in that vicinity of barn.
The dog followed a neighbor home and they got him groomed, he was a mess. They are keeping him, not because they wanted another dog, just because they felt sorry for him. They said heās very sweet.
There is a mamma cat with kittens in what might be the tack room, havenāt seen this for myself. Tomorrow Iāll take a look.
Are the other cats friendly at all, can they be picked up? I hear they are running but some are friendly. Just wondering if they bite. I am planning on trapping them unless I hear they are friendly. Iām taking them to be neutered and spayed, vaccinated, dewormed and deflead so they will be ready for another barn, donations welcome. Iāll bring them home to my farm on the same road. Please, help me find homes for these cats. Iāll place the kittens through a Pet Smart store adoption center to find inside homes. They will charge an adoption fee for those kittens. So far we havenāt raised enough money to cover the cost of the care but we do have most of it.
I just trapped the mamma cat and sheās friendly and likes to be petted and picked up her 2 kittens and took them home. They are in my bathroom. I also trapped another tortie and a grey cat who are still in traps at my barn and will be sterilized on Monday. I ran out of traps and will go back with more to trap the 2 orange cats who must be very hungry by now and hope to see the other grey cat so I need to get 3 traps.
The adults will be available for barns, people are donating to pay for their vet bills, a bargain price. They will be fully vaccinated, dewormed, defleaed and ready for a barn home. The kittens will go up for adoption when they are old enough to be sterilized at 2 lbs. Right now they are very tiny and so cute, mamma is very friendly and has been picked up so if anyone would take her home she might make a nice house pet.
Please people, if you are local help us place these cats. They are nice cats, beautiful and healthy. Once they go to the vet they should go to homes asap after they heal a bit.
Thank you, Susan
Hi Susan,
Thank you so much for taking care of the other creatures at the farm! Iāve seen this happen many times - the dogs and cats are just left behind when a horse or dairy farm closes.
Do you have a PayPal account where I can make a donation? If not, please PM me your address so I can send you a donation.
BLESS YOU for all you are doing.
