Business As Usual
Perhaps, if the thread returns to a more journalistic reporting venue, it could continue to state facts that need to come to light,…and present questions that need answers…and offer information that the sport desperately needs to maintain its proper function.

Just facts.

The preceeding post is a perfect example of why the original thread has been pulled.

Guys, I’m just as much on the side of the horses as you are. If you want to use this as your forum you’ve got to make an attempt at a little journalistic integrity and refrain from the name calling and rumor mill tactics.
Anything and everything that I had posted on that thread was FACT. And anyone who wanted to claim otherwise in a court of law, would lose.

Not YELLING…just saying.

Ms. Beattie, I can assure you that if you don’t start producing facts and giving answers that this entire farce will hit the media within one week. and i’m not just speaking of local media, this will receive national attention. I’m sure PETA would love to get a hold of this one, also. the clock is ticking, please show everyone your good intentions. We want just one answer, WHERE IS THE HORSE?
What you people fail to comprehend is that these are the facts. The sad disturbing facts. It has been permitted to fester and swell for a long time with not a care in the world from management or the backside horsemens population. Business as usual will come to an end
Wow. How can all those people who know what really goes on sleep at night? My only guess is these people are sadly lacking moral character…:frowning:

Barnfairy

Hi Barnfairy,
I hope you didn’t think I was yelling at you (did you mean the ‘corrupt vet’?) - I adore you. Everything you’ve said makes sense - I was trying to toss my lot in with you. Well, shoot! I hope I haven’t hurt your feelings…please let me know if I need to apologize to you. I’m willing to grovel! You’re just one of the few people who I always seem to agree with.

Haldis ‘Hallie’ I. McEvoy
Yelling at me does nothing to improve your credibility. I’m on your side.

If you want to end the corruption, you’ve got to play smart.
For whom the bell tolls
Time marches on
For whom the bell tolls

Judgement day is nearly upon us. Business as usual is dead

Stephanie Beattie is working today, tonight as well as tomorrow to locate the horse in question. If the horse can’t be located she has acknowledged responsibility and will take a proper course of action. I think we should all just hope the horse is OK.

I am just tired of everything to be honest. I hate horse racing. I hate the whole process of retired racehorses. If everyone would just be a little more accountable in this game we’d all be better off. Why do HBPA’s rely on the Racing Commission to establish penalties for offenders? When can the horseman realize the sport is going to hell? Oh well, I’m at my wits end.

Many questions here, dick. First and foremost what kind of responsibility specifically is she taking for the missing horse? Since she has already told a bunch of false stories regarding the whereabouts of the horse is she now ready to admit that this horse went to slaughter. The lies kind of blow the I have a lot of horses and just miscalculated excuse out of the water. The horse had to get from point A TO POINT B and nobody in the world is buying that not a soul in that outfit has any idea of how this process started. Furthermore this excuse lends prime example that she may be unfit to manage a large string of horses and surely has no business leading a horsemens organization

Is she accepting responsibility for establishing a pattern of transferring horses to a known felon and notorious animal abuser? Especially those horses with serious injuries that are danger to themselves and human life. How about responsibility for ALL of the horses transferred to delahoussaye in this now transparent disposal scheme that she has perpetrated?

And finally just what is the proper course of action in this matter. Blame David Wells and apologize for picking the wrong mate. That would be a bunch of crap. Or how about resigning her position as HBPA president with full acknowledgement and acceptance from the board of wrongdoing? Well that would just leave Penn no choice but to revoke her stalls as it has put pressure on other horsemen in the same situation who were mercilessly hounded even when innocent. Just curious what you would suggest in this position, dick. The truth of the matter is it all comes down to one simple issue. Stephanie, where is the horse???

Not to worry, Hallie. I was indeed referring to the corrupt vet’s ALL CAPS.

I just fail to see how the business as usual of this thread --the hurling of insults and continued empty promises of judgement day-- will be in any way an effective step towards ending the business as usual at PEN.

Barn fairy why don’t you and hackagaitor go get a room. If you want to sit here and lick each others wounds it is counterproductive to everything besides wanting to make people vomit. I will continue to talk about the great injustice and corruption at penn until I am fully satisfied. If you don’t like it leave the thread and go stroke your self righteous saintly egos at a blow hard wine and cheese party

And there you go. That’ll move the chains.

Wow! Such a class act!

JD - What a classy special person you must be! Pardon me for worrying about other people’s feelings and expressing those thoughts. Gee whiz - I care about people and their emotions…as well as missing and abused horses. I didn’t realize I had to be a total jerk to communicate in terms you might understand.

Over the past months I’ve been chasing down vans heading for Canada with ‘show horses’ for slaughter. The things I’ve seen and heard no one should go through. But, I didn’t feel a need to blurt this out until now. I could rattle off a list of tracks, trainers, and owners these horses came from, however, I’m busy trying to raise funds to get these horses and ponies to safe haven.

I just don’t understand cruelty whether it be towards an animal or human.

As far as Barnfairy and I getting a room, it would have to be a big one. We’ve got a lot of friends who’d want to be present for civilized and productive conversation. Quite a concept, eh?

Nice shot at me by using the jumble ‘hackagaitor.’ If I was a hack in this business I wouldn’t have books published or several thousand articles published in major horse publications.

Go ahead and lead your sub-simian pond scum life and enjoy it. Oh, and by the way, this is the nastiest missive I’ve ever written on COTH. Many topics have brought me to the edge but your abusive attitude is the first one to send me over the top.

C’mon JD, let’s not lose any support of the people who are also on the side of the horse. Everyone needs to stick together if we are to destroy the evil that plagues the equine/racing community.

Congratulations for falling into my trap gator. You have now officially started mud slinging and name calling. Proving you a hypocrite is quite satisfying. The truth remains that certain triggers and emotions all bring us a little out of character. That is not to say that your cause is any more relevant or important than mine. The corruption and animal abuse at Penn has pushed me to my limits and has seriously tormented both good horsemen and horses. My normal polite and proper demeanor does not seem any bit appropriate to accomplish the type of reform that I desire. For this I will neither apologize nor regret my motives Or execution. Once again deal with it or fly away with barn fairy into the wind

I commend your passion and effort in the rescue of these noble animals. If more people in my sport had your mentality it would increase the enjoyment and prolong the longevity of horse racing. For this alone, I provide you with this education and psychology lesson, free of charge. No need to thank me. Your predictable lash out response was thanks enough

I call bull on that judgement day. You got nasty, you got told off by someone far more eloquent than you, so you got b*tchy. I’ll tell you this, people like you and all of the other “new” members who has joined lately are endangering your cause.

Penn sounds like a hell hole, and I’m sure that all the decent folks are angry and very upset. But, expressing that anger on a very public forum with nasty and rude comments is not going to alleviate the matter. It will probably worsen it. Insults and anger, no matter how justified, tend to cause the opposition to entrench themselves. It would be wise to just stick to the facts, in a measured and dispassionate manner.

Oh, and my credentials are clearly stated on the bottom of my posts. I’ve been helping to get horses placed from Finger Lakes for years now, and our little group is very successful at it.

Enough

Judgement Day, Haligator, Barnfly.
This is turning into a “Free Speeech” board B***ch fest.
Take it out back, and stay on topic.
Your personal dislikes can be PM’ed to each other not slung here.
You’ve completely deviated from the topic.
Don’t have the Mod’s remove the thread because of school room behavior.

As we told the OP of this thread and the original, we were removing the original thread for review and it would most likely be returned to the forum.

Due to the length of the thread and complexity of issues involved, we told him it would likely take a while.

Opening another thread to restart the discussion in the meantime, is not the appropriate way to handle the situation.

Thanks,
Mod 1

STEPHANIE, WHERE IS THE HORSE?

An examination of lies, mistaken stories, and one trainer’s desperate attempt to keep her stalls

Does this woman read this forum? If not, why are you posting this? Just curious…

The deceit and silence continues. Dick was promised an answer as to the wherabouts of this special horse. Stephanie Beattie has remained quiet and attempts to rally friends and associates around her position. Her official defense has been that they just have so many horses that it is impossible to keep track of where they go. This is beyond pathetic and is in direct violation of the Penn National anti slaughter policy demanding due diligence. Furthermore, if it was an innocent mistake, why did you stick to two separate stories before being proven wrong. And why did your connections continually call a certain woman’s farm pleading with her to say that she took the horse. Yet again another miserable, failed attempt at deceit.

Now that we know that you will never produce this horse or have no plans to ever take responsibility for your actions, I would once again ask that you resign your position as HBPA president. The majority of the people that you represent feel that you do not have the integrity, mental capacity, emotional stablility, nor a common love for horses that is required to do this job. If you feel that transferring or selling horses to Darrel Delahoussaye is an acceptable way to dispose of your “problems” then you should not have the right to train horses at any venue on earth. I can assure you that there will be a large movement asking that you be evicted from your stalls at Penn National whether you have special political protection or not.

Well she does have a post offering a $1000 reward in the missing horses forum but I don’t know if she actually reads this. A better question is how long before this thread gets locked too and Judgement gets a mini vacation?
