“think fast or eat dirt”?
A typo for “handy with his feet…”?
You’re gonna get spun off. You may or may not have intended to turn.
Hopefully the horse is being advertised in a discipline where this is an advantage, like he’s a working cow horse or something.
My favorite over decades has been the way color is described in the ad and what you see when you get there
Gorgeous bay= brown
Copper chestnut= brown
Jet black=brown
Roan= brown
Liver chestnut= brown
Dun= brown
Most when you see them personally are 2” shorter then advertised and turn out to be 2 years older when you finally get the papers.
IME saying one was Handy/ quick on its feet means it bolts before you can get your right foot over the back and in the stirrup or its quick to spin away and double barrel anyone standing within 10 feet. Or both. Of course anything that deals with moving forward (bold, brave, forward etc) translates as runs off/ no brakes. Anything that suggests slow and safe for anyone means its sick, lame or 15 years older then advertised.
Some things improve with the passing of time and improved technology…adspeak remains the same.
I guess I should be happy that Lola was not advertised as forward. But dayum… she is. Trainer is teaching her trot lengthenings, and if a pony could smile, Lola would be smiling. She has such a good brain, but she’s sparky.
Hey, my Great Dane resembles that! (Actually, he is the least slobbery dog, for a Dane!)
Grade 8-10 years old = 18-20 years old.
Thought to be 14 years old = 24 years old, or older.
Like cats from the pound. Always four years old.
Probably only heard the word “husband” and thought “Husband horse”.
“Well it’s grown into its paws and it has all its teeth so…”
