Buying from Bowie “kill pen”?

Stop. Don’t. Come back .

Super late response but try vodka. My complete anhidrosis piny started sweating in a week in the middle of summer last week. Even the quality of her coat is better just from being able to sweat even if it’s not hot.

Interesting! How much vodka?

So, the big Perch gelding says Out of Stock. I am not sure if a friend bought him or if he is maybe still available. I will contact them when they are back open.

1-2oz twice a day depending on size of horse. Since I started mid summer I did 1oz for a pony twice a day. Right now she’s on 1oz once a day and doing well. Use the cheapest corn vodka. I tried it as a Hail Mary based on hundreds of ppl on a fb group for anhidrosis saying it worked for them. The regular supplements didn’t work for her and she kept colicing.

OK, thank you!

That sounded rather half-hearted… :smiley_cat:

I can’t believe I just asked for a quote on shipping the filly. I told you guys to stop me!

If it’s too expensive, I won’t be able to afford it, on top of the purchase price, but we’ll see.

Since when would people here stop you???:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Trying to get caught up… who’s getting what?? @Paint_Party, are you getting a horse from Bowie??

Me?!?

If so, that would be news to me, my husband, my trainer (who is full with a waiting list) and my diva mare who believes she’s not receiving the attention to which she is entitled.

I’m just here to support Good Choices in whatever way I can. :innocent:

@Kinda_Kooky is looking at the DHH colt upthread a bit … And they were hoping to find a place nearby that could do quarantine and possibly handle the vet work of getting him gelded during that time as well.

@Alex_and_Bodie_s_Mom is also pondering the DHH filly whose price has been cut in half.

She already got the two DHH colts.

Someone from Florida rescued a horse they bred and I suggested Heinz_57 could quarantine her, but it was too far and the person had already made other arrangements.

I’m still pondering, but hadn’t quite considered that the shipping would be more expensive than the purchase price! I’m having to really think about that, as well as the fact that my idiot brother took out half the fence in my old paddock, and my other temporary “quarantine “ option needs some work.

But I love her eyes. Sigh.

So if I do this - how does it work? You buy the horse in the website and then-? Do you need to contact them about when your shipper will be there and arrange for board if necessary? Do they call you?

I checked out online. Then I texted the number (can be found on the listings, it says texting is fine OR you can call) to schedule the pick up and with any other details/questions. They do load outs from 9-5 Monday-Friday and Saturday from 9-2. Mine were picked up within the 2 days that are included in the price, but I’m sure they have a procedure for paying for additional board days if needed.

No! No! No! Stop giving clear, sensible answers to convoluted logistical and pricing questions! I especially didn’t need a ballpark figure for shipping to my area. I want this process to remain an intimidating black box, so I can remain a supportive-but-distant spectator.

Please, I beg you. Do NOT throw me in the Bowie briar patch! :joy:

So… I shouldn’t point out that you can “add to cart” shipping options, health certs, board, quarantine, farrier services, and a whole list of medications (abx, dewormer, etc), even a halter and blanket if you choose?

FYI if you do not supply a halter at pickup, they will generally require you to purchase one unless you want to load and ship the horse loose. Plan accordingly! Especially if using a shipper.
