CABARDINO

For all of you considering Cabardino as the sire of your next baby, I would highly recommend him! I am thrilled with our filly, who is now 3 weeks old. The stallion owner is also wonderful and easy to work with! Here are a few pics…

She is adorable and looks as she’s absolutely to die for! Congrats on your filly!

Congrats on your filly, she is gorgeous.

I would love to breed my mare to Cabardino, but he is quite expensive. Does the SO is open to early booking discount and stuff like that ?

I am not sure about any discounts. You should contact them because they are really great to work with.

She is soo nice! I would be very excited if she were mine…

I have heard very positive things about his owner as well but he’s a MWF collect only and there is no LFG on mares older than 14. Also, I think he’s a ship if 3 times and then it’s very expensive if you have to go a 4th time. At least that is what it was when a friend of mine put a mare to him. Her mare caught 2nd try and she had a lovely filly.

Yeah, I was lucky and my mare got pregnant on first shipping. He is pricey, but I am hoping the end result will be worth it. I guess time will tell! He is such a young stallion so I wanted to post some pictures because I could not find many pictures of his offspring last year when I was making the decision on which stallion I would use. I am very happy that I chose Cabardino, though!

he certainly has the best jump of any of the hunter stallions I have seen advertised. It’s not just a nice jump that is perfectly suitable for the ammy classes (and you would be happy with as a fall back position in any offspring), but that beautiful take-your-breath-away dramatic jump that we love to see in the pro divisions and always hope you get when you breed a hunter.

The million dollar question is, does he pass on that jump to his offspring?

Here is my friend’s filly by Cabardino:

That IS the million dollar question but I’d sure be willing to take the risk.

I have a yearling filly by Cabardino. She has a crazy blaze like your filly Lazybug. You can easily pick her out from the Devon photos at DLkillingerphoto.com or Alixcoleman.com. They have very similar eyes too!
As for the owners they could not have been better to work with! I was still considering three stallions when I had the vet check the mare. She had a huge follicle and Cabardino’s owners were the only ones willing to get me the semen in less than 24 hours! It required some good faith on their part, no contracts had been sent or signed, they collected on a Tuesday and had the semen sent by courier across the border to the airport. I could not be happier with the results!

Adorable!! You named her Clementine?! How funny! There is another filly from one of his previous crops that was Clementine as well (I remember her foal video, she was a great mover out of an average moving mare!); here is her video (scroll ALL the way to the very bottom of the page: http://www.charlotfarm.com/2008%20Cab%20offspring.htm

We, too, love our 2009 Cabardino foal, and are thrilled with the quality. The semen had the highest motility our vet had ever seen, and our mare took on the first breeding.

I need new pictures, chrissy!!!

LOL I know!! You should hear the grief I get from people around here wanting to see updates, etc. He’s half clipped right now…waiting to finish him before I take more pictures. I did get a quick video this morning, though…might try to post it soon.

He needs to be clipped?

gorgeous! All of them - and all with that big eye! I love it - and if the three year olds are any way to judge what he passes (okay, only a few, like two) they jump darn fine!

I think he passes on fine movement, too. I haven’t really had the time to watch my 3 week old a lot, and when I do she is running and bucking. But, the few times she has trotted, it seems like she comes off the ground a good 12 inches! I’ve always had pony babies and never a horse so I am constantly amazed in the difference in the movement and body type. I can’t wait to see how she turns out, and I will most likely breed my mare to Cabardino again in the future!

I like this one of her when she was just a week old…

I also thought Christine was fantastic to deal with. The breeding was a last minute decision and they were very accommodating.
