There is a hole in my heart…

I will miss Kathy’s wisdom, humor and common sense. I will also miss her bravery and ability to cope with adversity. I am sure she has changed many lives in the short time most of us knew her on the BB. I will miss her great answers to the BB.

Endurance Rider Wannabee!

OH goodness…alteast she is not in pain anymore…which is the most wonderful thing. I feel so quilty, here I post about nonsense and un-important things and there are people who are going through such hard times and continue to post such positive things…

My thoughts and prayers are with her family!

House hunting on Long Island…we’re looking at cardboard boxes…since that’s all we can afford in a nice area…

I wish we could all have met her. She was very inspiring here on the BB… My prayers are with her family…She will be truly missed…

However, I know that she is no longer in any pain.
My prayers to her family and friends.

When I saw her name on her posts, although I knew she was an adult, I always pictured “Cactus Kate” – a feisty little girl in boots and a pint-sized Stetson – and it made me smile every time.

Feisty she was, and a wonderful example to us all.

Gwen, see Tin’s post on pg. 1, with the link ‘Never Forgotten’.

And here is a picture of her showing her beloved Clownin’ in Oregon in 1984. I know she is having a wonderful ride on him in heaven right now…

She obviously had a lot of courage, and her memory will be admired and respected.

I haven’t posted anything yet, because its hard to know what to say.

Cactuskate was a stand out on the board, and though I didn’t “know” her, I certainly remember her. My heart goes out to her “real friends and family” as well as our virtual family here, who has lost such a light.

I lost my granfather to this same dastardly ailment, so while I am sad, I know she is much better off where she is now.

And l scot, it took me a long time get Cactus Kate too, LOL.

I honor a brave, great, funny lady.

I was so sorry to find this topic today and join you all in mourning the passing of a marvelous, strong, courageous person, CactusKate, though I always seemed to see it as Cactus Gate.

I heartily agree that the inspirational Rocketman photo needs to be included in a richly deserved Chronicle obituary.

My condolences go out to her family.

This truly wonderful woman lost her battle with cancer over the weekend. I know that many of you knew her on this forum as she spent alot of time providing advice and giving her insight here. For those of you who were lucky enough to know her personally, I don’t have to tell you what an incredibly inspiring person she was. For those of you who know her through this forum, I am sure she has touched many of you in other ways. I posted this message to you all because I believe she viewed many of you as “family”, and would want you all to know. Her strength through this illness was remarkable, and I never once saw her get down about it. Because of her, I will now do my best to live each day to the fullest, and I won’t worry about the small stuff anymore. I hope you all do the same. She will forever be missed…

To mean this = Kathy In Arizona.

Its sad to see such an amazing woman pass, but in her passing she has taught us all a valuable lesson. Live every day to the fullest, whether sick, sad, injured, whatever…always find the positive side.

Why isnt phonetics spelt the way it sounds?

I am so sorry. I will say a prayer for her soul.

I’m new here and unfortunately did not know Catuskate, but I find myself on the verge of tears reading the fine tributes on this thread.

How full a life to have touched so many in so many places. I know of no better tribute than what I have read in the previous pages. May her spark and obvious zest for life endure in the inspiration she has given.

God bless.

My thoughts and prayers go out to her family. It is always hard to lose a loved one to Cancer.

Maybe we could put one of the poems posted in the ad…

Oh no. May she rest in peace, free of pain and worry.

Please let her family and friends know that she had many friends she never met, who cared about her and recognized her courage and grace.

Rest in peace, Cactuskate.

You will be missed. Rest in Peace.
