Love this colt! He had a challenge today but still won fairly handily!
I may have teared up a bit…
Come on California Chrome, one more race!!
Awesome!!! Hand ride at the end and just waving the whip… Go Chrome!
Brilliant ride again, that horse is so rateable and game. Victor did not want that tight turn inside, this is great.
Wonderful! Ride on Curlin did not seem to be getting to him.
But what was that remark in the winner’s circle about Churchill should learn something from Pimlico regarding hospitality about?
Woooooooot!
As I understand it, Churchill was not very gracious to the horse owners in the Derby Race as well as not being helpful to Ron Turcotte the disabled jockey of Secretariat in getting in to see the races either. Very bad PR moves for Churchill downs.
He said it and moved along…

I wondered about that remark too! Wonder what in the world happened that made Mr. Coburn feel so upset that he said something on national tv about it. SOOOOO happy for the connections and I LOVED that Mr. Coburn thanked their groom over and over, and just thanked everyone. He seems like such an amazingly genuine person, and I’m thrilled to see Chrome headed to Belmont with even a chance at a Triple Crown.
Woohoo! He dealt handily with a couple challenges today. I liked that in the last 1/8 that Ride on Curlin was not gaining on him and he maintained his advantage under a hand ride.
History indicates it is too much to hope for, but how can you not want this colt to win the Belmont? He looks so magnificent.
Waaaaaa-Hoooooooooo
Magnificent!!!
I was really excited watching this race; it was a scramble yet CC still made his trip look so smooth. ROC and Social Inclusion both have talent. CC has the mind, though. His connections seemed more stunned than they were after the Derby (this is immediately following - I didn’t see the winner’s circle footage).
The Belmont is going to be very interesting.

I am sure Lucky Pulpits stud fee will be going way up next year! But…here is the deal with CC> its about his dam. She is by Not For Love. Now there was a good looking horse. I think in CCs case the dam has a lot to do with it…[/QUOTE]
Yes, saw the photo on The Bloodhorse of Not For Love…VERY nice conformation.
WOW Ride on Curlin surprised me! He totally ruined my bets Oh well. Love CHROME!
I am thrilled that he could prove that the Derby was not a fluke.
I am very pleased to see a jockey that rides with heart.
Sorry to hear that Churchill is still snobby.
Real Americans every one of them. Best of luck with the next leg but I’m pleased that they’ve all been repaid for their belief in this horse.

When Chrome put Social Inclusion away going down the stretch?
I burst into tears.
Does he have the stamina to get a mile and a half? We’ll just have to wait and see!
Junior is going to do it!
Brilliant. But as a friend of mine said in 3 weeks many horses are going to be at the Belmont to try to upset this great horse. I don;t know, he has the true look of Eagles. I am hoping!! He sure was a pro today. Love the Ride his Jockey gave him! They are a great team!
“the photo on The Bloodhorse of Not For Love”. Link anyone?
You go, Chrome, you monster!!!
Great ride. Good for Mr. Coburn for saying that. Maybe things like that will shape CD up.
WHOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO!
I cheered so loud, I scared the dog and had my 4yro son worried–he came running up to me, “What, Mommy? What?” …even though he’d just watched the race with me and knew to cheer for #3. Hee!
I’m so hesitantly excited. I don’t want the heartbreak again, but want to see a Triple Crown so very much.
WHOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO!
