I’ve not heard as much as I thought I would, about any of the CC 2 y/o’s in training. Any of the others race ready?
Nice first time out run.

Several of his get went through the Fasig Tipton “Midlantic” 2 year-olds in Training. They didn’t bring a lot of interest.
You can see their under tack videos here: http://www.fasigtipton.com/2020/Midlantic-Two-Year-Olds-in-Training#/?column=sire&filter=california%20chrome
Now that he’s out of the country, I don’t know any way to easily track his 2yos (even the ones in the U.S) With stallions that stand here, you can look up entries on the BloodHorse stallion register. But CC doesn’t have a page anymore.
If anyone cared enough, they could look up the names of his current 2yos and do a search one-by-one through Equibase.
I just pulled up Chrome on Equibase and there is a Leading Progeny tab that currently shows only Cilia with her single race. Looks like you’ll see only horses racing and Leading Progeny is Top 20 Progeny by Earnings so probably not as complete a list as you’d like.
California Chrome’s Cilla was a 7 length MSW winner in the slop today at Delaware Park. She might be his first U.S. winner.
According to BH, Cilla is Chrome’s first North American winner. It was the second start for Cilla. Sloppy track (Delaware Park), 6f.
Wasn’t there also a winner in Russia, of all places, and several that are doing well in Japan? There was also a clip of several of his South American offspring galloping. I want his foals to surprise everyone and do much better than expected. I want to see the Japanese who bought him gloat.
betonbill
yes his first winner was in Russia.
“…Chrome sired his first winner July 18 when Sunkar Time won the first race at Krasnodar Racetrack in Russia.“
Yes, just his first winner on this continent.
The Japanese breeders are unlikely to gloat. (They don’t, at least not publicly.)
The American breeders are unlikely to miss him. (For a 40k stud fee, they didn’t want him.)
Two really nice 2nds for CC runners today.
Heliochrome looked really nice.
Decade was also runner up at Ellis Park.
I’ll quote my own post to tell you, the horse I referenced in this post has a 2yo in the US who broke a track/stakes record in his first start earlier this year: http://www.harnesslink.com/News/Trac…-Captain-Corey
To be fair…this colt sold for $150K as a yearling despite his sire’s stud fee being 5 or 6K. He was a hell of an individual.
That was an awesome race! Thanks for sharing. Have to go watch it on the TV and get the bigger screen experience. I hope he has a lot of success and his sire too.
I hope he goes on to bigger and better things. He looks like a monster - and also, he is GINORMOUS. So light on his feet for a big boy.
There are 33 California Chrome yearlings in the Keeneland September sale catalog, 2 in the Fasig Tipton September sale.
Charles Chrome just won by 12 1/2 lengths. Race #3 at Indiana Grand.

I love the name. It was a 16k 6 furlong Maiden Claiming race. I wonder if he was claimed?
Martins had another horse in the same race “Uncle Roy” (not by California Chrome) but he finished last.
From Denise Martin…
“ I mentioned this for my family since Charles is Perry’s father’s name and … well Roy is Perry’s brother’s name. It was a hoot to watch!”
No, he wasn’t claimed.
