Canadian Olympic Team - who do you pick?

Where do you see that? I see Clark in first…

I was watching the Eventing Masters dressage early this morning when Catherine Robinson’s boyfriend rode. The commentators talked about his waiting to know whether he would for the Italian team…and how Catherine was already selected for the Canadian team. So…the two might be in RIO together. I wonder if the commentators misspoke…
Karen O’Connor was commenting on USEF Network today with John Kyle at Great Meadow. She talked about how unfair it was to make all the Canadian riders wait for the big announcement in mid July. She said that saw the Canadian selectors at Great Meadow today.

What about Jimmy Wofford?[/QUOTE]

They didn’t like him either.

She probably didn’t, I feel like the teams are all but an open secret at the moment. CBC all but confirmed the show jumping team repeatedly today, plus it was very obvious as the team was already on a plane to Aachen (Which was then confirmed by Mark Laskin as the Olympic team). Mark himself almost spilled the beans but then caught himself saying that the Aachen team was the Olympic team and thus he wouldn’t name it. But at least they seem to know for sure which is more the I can say for the poor Dressage and Eventing riders.

Rebecca Howard’s stop on cross country today at Barbury…Anyone watch Eventing Masters and see what happened? I was watching Great Meadow. Jim Wofford was very complimentary about Selena, Jessie, Wayland, and Coleen’s skill.

I wonder if it changes anything…

I wouldn’t think so …!

Rebecca’s stop was at the water…a very basic straight forward drop; not off a turn; not a bounce; the horse just plain refused to go into the water. I just watched it. I expected that the stop was going to be a drive by at a difficult arrow head angle off a turn and on terrain… but this is very strange…and a big concern.

yikes! where did you watch it? I found the livestream link but not video on demand

It could anything, the lighting, the footing, the crowd, etc. Hard to know what happened from watching the video. Not confidence building but they are normally a solid pair.

I just watched the video and that seemed to be a pretty straightforward water jump. I hope that’s a wake-up call and that they will ride extra hard at Rio, but I can’t really see that Rebecca did anything wrong, or what the horse didn’t like about the drop.

www.eventridermasters.tv then click on watch live…then you can select watch again.
Rebecca and her horse were fantastic at WEG 2010 in Kentucky. Since then it has been up and down. At the 2012 London Olympics, her fall was at a similarly straight forward fence… the fence right before they entered the Olympic stadium. Even the commentator sounded as if it was a really strange place to have a problem. The only other person that I remember have a problem at that fence was a guy on a big gray that had a drive by.

JP won her appeal and will be named to the team… which horse will be removed and which horse will she ride?

Where did you hear/see this?

Eventing Connect

This should be interesting to watch.

Lol keeping my opinions to myself this time… but happy for the team if they all deserve to be there than what’s fair is fair. I’m more concerned with the safety in Rio than anything else at this point.

I don’t think I would want to go to Rio.

I see Maya Black just withdrew her horse as the travelling alternate.
