Quoted from slc2:
Number one. Praise is ALWAYS in order.
I’ll be sure to remember that when I see a new student cramming a horse into a frame.

“the horse is on the forehand because of the unstable seat”
ok, this one really got us rolling on the floor. if this girls seat is unstable, the rest of the dressage world needs to just quit and take up knitting. in fact, her seat is very decent. if this horse is on the forehand, i have some ocean front property in iowa to sell you![/QUOTE]
Um, I actually DO have some to sell you — interested? :eek:
I can’t believe 2 things about this thread;
based on a video of less than 3 minutes, people think they are in a better position to judge the quality of a rider/horse’s capabilities than a respected clinician who works with the combo on a regular basis
people don’t understand the fundamental difference between encouragement and praise.
Oh well … it is easy to be an armchair quarterback or a keyboard rider.
I look forward to seeing more of this rider’s progress :yes:
This thread has taken on a life of it’s own.:lol: I enjoyed reading the responses and did expect disagreement on training. That is why I am publishing my blog. I enjoy a good discussion…makes me think about my own riding. My friend and her horse have already improved the in the few weeks that she has been schooling the movement. Thanks for your passionate responses AND thanks for watching/reading:) There is more to come!
