Car Accident in Wellington

Seems like it would be a good place to try what we used to have in our town. People with fold up mini motorcycles would drive you home (for a fee slightly more than a taxi). They had one sag van to pick up motorcyclists. It was awesome because you and your car got home safe and they took off on their little motorcycle. I’m not sure on distances - but if it’s not too far seems like it could work well. Rather than shuttle vans - which are great- but not nearly as conveinent. It also involves no embarrassing trip back to get your car the next day.

When I lived in Lexington, there was a service that would drive you and your car home. A second drive from the company would follow and pick up the person who was driving your car. I don’t remember the company’s name, just that they used to stick flyers on cars at Keeneland. I always thought that was brilliant (although I’m sure the service wasn’t cheap!).

I’m glad that the accident has served as a wake up call. It is a terrible shame that it took something this horrific to make people pay attention. 0.126 percent blood alcohol level is very drunk, not just slightly above the legal limit.

It would have been so much better if they’d all stayed put. No need for a taxi or Uber. When you are at someone’s house, a guest room, sofa, or even the floor is a better option.[/QUOTE]

call me old fashioned, but someone visiting with One at home, drinks to the extent reported? then in my world it becomes the hosts responsibility to care for their guest so they don’t pose a risk to other road users.

by all means drink to you can’t stand/walk straight if that is your thing, but stay off the bloody road!

someone has to be the Adult, and it certainly won’t be the person drinking who then gets behind a steering wheel.
