We’re now one week post bite and my little orange man is just about back to normal. So much so, in fact, that he tried to bolt outside again yesterday. This time though we were ready for it.
The necrosis on his head seems to have stopped spreading and I noticed some new, healthy tissue starting to grow in. It’s definitely itchy but so far he hasn’t made it worse.
Thank you everyone for your continued prayers, jingles, and good thoughts. I can’t believe my little man is just fine now!!

Sorry I have been slacking on updates!
I took Rocket back to the vet yesterday for a recheck. His blood work came back perfect! The scab fell off the hole in his head and revealed nothing but healthy tissue underneath. The vet said the debridement was unnecessary! He is completely back to normal and he seems to have no interest in trying to bolt outside either

He’s such a special baby! I found him the night we moved into our house at 4 weeks old as an orphan hiding in a tumbleweed on the side of the road. We definitely have a special bond.
I’ll definitely keep you in mind though if something disastrous happens and I need to find him a home

I’ve always been biased about my own three red cats, most especially my Rotten Ralph. But everyone I speak to that has a ginger cat says the same thing…that they are extroridinary.
