Oh, I’m so sorry. Such a handsome fellow. He was young! That’s sad. He will be missed.
My sympathies. He was beautiful.
I’m so sorry.
So sorry to read this.
He was a very handsome dude.
As @Kimstar said, sounds like he went quickly & without pain.
{Hugs}
I am so sorry to hear about Atticus. Sending you hugs.
Your love of music (not your usual church repertoire but Broadway in this case) and your cats, made me think of you, and them:
That’s Little Bit over by the shower. I was coming out of the bathroom and had every cat in the house either with me or waiting just outside. Little Bit does come into the bedroom in the mornings, usually under the bed to growl shortly before I get up, then toward the bathroom, but it’s her posture that struck me here. More relaxed than usual around a crowd. Slowly, we are getting there on her socialization.
Is this Rascal, and Mary?
Rascal in both.
I do seem to have abundant torties around on the farm. Rascal, Mary, Little Bit, and then Solo is a dilute. All of them have plenty of tortitude.
I just got a good look at the new applicant. I was sure I’d seen a new cat a few days ago, but it was still mostly dark, so just a shadow – a running shadow. Just now, I went out for a quick work break and a stroll around the plants, and as I opened the door, it spooked and ran away from the porch across the yard. Solid black, at least on the back end (possible hidden chest spot) and looked so much like Bagheera that they easily could pass for each other except for the behavior. I called it, and it stopped next to a building and looked back. Stood there for a few minutes watching me before ducking into that building. Several other cats were on the porch and didn’t react; they, of course, probably took inventory of this one before I did.
I’d say on an initial impression that this one has had contact with people. That stopping and looking back; a true feral would have kept on going to hide ASAP. It’s been around for a handful of days, from last sighting to this. I stopped and talked to that building for a minute on my walk. Nothing seen, but I know the cat was there, because Bagheera, who was with me then and who has the most edge on him of the outdoor cats, was on point. The stranger seems to be attaching to the place and will probably continue drifting up closer.
Then another vet trip, sigh. But necessary. Everything that I can catch gets a vet trip, my contribution to spaying and neutering the world. I definitely don’t need kittens. I can collect adult cats quickly enough.
Sending prayers and jingles for you and black cat.
I thought of you and Little Bit earlier today when I saw a sweet video about a cat who had found a home. But when I went back to find it to try and post a link here I could not find it. I’ve searched Google history and FB history and YouTube history but none of them recorded it.
Sigh. Hopefully it will just pop up tomorrow as it did today – out of nowhere.
Not sure if this will work, given COTH’s moodiness on videos, but here’s a short video of the new black cat.
New Black Cat 060424
Yay! Mr Black Cat was making himself right at home and it seems Rascal and Bagheera were welcoming him. Who was little miss white paw who got herself into frame at the end? Mary?
The outside 3 reminded me of folks on the veranda at that big hotel on Mackinaw? Island.
The calico inside was Psalm. Always has to check on what I’m doing.
Oh my, I am so sorry about Aticus.
Lovely photos of the kitties though.
