CBD pellets

My horse has some mild arthritis in his right front coffin joint. He is retired but I was wondering about trying CBD pellets. I know there is a thread on this but was looking for suggestions on what to try ordering.

Thanks in advance!

There’s a recent thread on this. I started my mare on CBC pellets a few weeks ago and I think it’s making a difference, mentally and physically. Started with Plantacea, and am in the process of switching to Neurogan.

Thank you! Is Neurogan a better product than Plantacea?

I tried Hope Botanicals for 30 days, then I switched to Plantacea for the next 60. I can’t really say I saw any difference, to be honest. I have not purchased any more.

Thanks! I will try it for three months and if I don’t see a difference I will move on.

Theoretically, Neurogan is less expensive per CBD unit. As with all supplements, though, there is no regulation.

No regulations is a concern.

https://marystack.com/neurogan-hemp-horse-pellets/ I wrote the description for this product and do know it’s 3rd party lab certified. Not the same as regulated, but the product does contain what it claims. I use the Neurogan dog biscuits for my elderly dog, as a complement to Galliprant. He’s pretty damn happy and spry for a 14yr old with multiple health issues!

And I got them from Mary’s! (I grew up in San Diego and Mary’s was the place to go. I order things periodically, even though I live in New England now.)

Awesome! Thank you! Mary’s still is the place to go - and I love working there. If you ever need help finding something or to look up info on anything, message me. I write the copy for virtually every product that goes online so I see it all.

I just ordered pellets from Neurogan for my super high anxiety prone mare…fingers crossed this will help her. She’s no where near show ready, so I have no concerns about putting her on it. I looked at a bunch of companies from the other thread and went with Neurogan (they shipped it super fast).

[edit] I’ve been using CBD pellets on my high anxiety horse for about a month, I feel like it definitely takes the edge off.

I’ve been using Plantacea 2 scoops 2x/day on a horse with neck & neuro issues since last fall, he’s a different horse, not only is he rideable, he’s trainable, it’s amazing.

However I combine it with PEA, palmitoylethanolamide. You may want to google this (google : palmitoylethanolamide - horse). Basically, this activates the cannabidioid system in the body as well as CBD but coming at it from a different direction, so double activation so to speak.
Without this, this horse had no use…

Thank you Lieslot. I definitely want to try thisI have to see if they will ship to Canada.

Does there seem to be any difference in brand/type when it comes to dealing with physical ailments (arthritis, etc) vs mental issues (anxiety, stress)?

I’ve had my mare on the Neurogan pellets for almost a month. They are making a difference in how comfortable she is.

Lieslot, How much PEA with the CBD and where do you buy it?

Body worker recommended cbd pellets to help relieve poll tension in my nervous mare. Didn’t seem to do anything but make my feed room smell like pot. I don’t remember what brand it was though. I’ve read that makes a difference.

I was told, that the pure oil (CBD) is to be preferred?
