Child in my pasture- WWYD?

Oooh yeah, he can be very scary if he wants to. He can also shout a lot louder than me.

I don’t really want her to come back, but as my SO said, ‘if you let her get her own way, she’ll have won. Who knows what she’ll do next?’

I agree with him. I’m glad I’m not going to be there tomorrow. The urge to stick her in the lunging ring and chase her with a whip is getting pretty strong!:eek::winkgrin:

Skyking - you took the WOW! right out of my mouth! That little snot told you where to stick the gloves and then was about to vandalize your truck? Unbelieveable. LOL @ you squirting her with the hose! Good quick thinking. Wish I could have seen her face

I don’t believe this - it could almost be a novel. I keep coming back to check on progress. Hang in there, Kookie.

Anyone else waiting for “someone” to chime in defending the girl?

Nasty little thing isn’t she! Poor Gran to have to deal with her and poor you and your horses for getting caught in the middle!

I think the fact that someone had actually retaliated shocked her more than anything else. She was like

Total reaction on my part- I didn’t think about it at all.

I’ll take chocolate chip. Good on you for catching the little villain about to vandalize your truck. And post-discussion with PC Owen! I have a ton of sympathy for KC going through this - I feel for the kids gran, too. What a mess to have to clean up.

Hands over chocolate chip cookies.

I’m so glad I turned around when I did. My truck does not need a shiny silver tattoo.

One thing my SO said about her has stuck in my mind- she seems very angry all of the time. Acting out seems to be her way to vent.

Her poor gran. I gave her a hug tonight. Mary is so upset about the way the kid is behaving. The child’s mother has so much to answer for! Something has to work, surely.

I’ve actually just spoken to Dave, who said he’d bring his boys over tomorrow night (They’re 8, 10 and 15) to get the last of the fence back up. They are such a good family.

Poor Gran - ill husband, brat reltive and even had time to bring over homemade cake to you. What she must be going through. Oh, no, it is the KID we must stroke. Had to smile: my Mum was exactly the same; it is ‘children’, not ‘kids’, when refering to humans.

Even though I’m 24, have my own place, and work in a stressful job, that look still gets me! It’s the ‘Bother, I’m in touble now!’ look.

I am not entering into the discussion about “Child in my pasture- WWYD?”, but I am going to weigh in concerning Facinated. I have known him for sometime and can unequivocally say that he is not only a father, but a very good one too. He has a charming, bright, polite child who is a pleasure to be around. Just because he considers himself an advocate for children, does not make him a pervert.

KC, can’t you keep her for a few more days of “training”? Sounds like she has never met an adult that can stand up to her before. 12 is not too late to change.

I know its not your job, but if you can get her to act respectfully toward you maybe things will not get worse when she comes back next year and the next. . older and more vile.

If you can work with 1,200 Lb panicky animals you should be well suited for a 12 year old child:D At least for a few hours a week? They sent her to the “country” to meet someone just like you.

he’s probably on a flight over to save the little angel from all of us still here in the states.

oops wrong, he’s over on the tacky or not post saying if your horse dies, barn owner should collect another month’s board.

op, please do not let that kid come back to your property! it will only give her the opportunity to see what you have and where everything is located, and when you are gone, she will be back, with a vengence. Her actions have shown she has no fear of authority or adults. Do not let her come back to your property, in fact have the police inform her not to enter your property again, ever. criminal trespass is your only defense. meanwhile, get the wildlife cameras so you can see what she is up to when your back is turned.

I’m thinking the boys may go a long way toward improving this child’s (tell your mother that my mother thanks her - I’m not supposed to use “kid” either) attitude. Hopefully, they are a stongwilled bunch and the disapproval of her peers will help straighten her out.

please don’t start

please don’t start the trainwreck again. we are supposed to be trying to help the op deal with a JD, not argue over your friend.

Ooooh - what a little cow. Good for you for shooting her with the hose - quick thinking on your part. And good for you for allowing her to work on your fence - you’re doing her a favor. And her grandmother, too - as mortified as she must be, I’m sure it would make Gran feel worse if you didn’t allow Rosemary’s Baby to attempt to make it right. In your place I would never want to see the little creep again, but then I cheerfully admit to being a selfish horsewoman.

Way to go KC! Quickest squirt in the UK … good for you for spraying that little worm trying to vandalize your vehicle.

Just a fact, only a fact.

I’ve been following this thread since the beginning and I have to say, the highlight so far for me was when the kid got sprayed with a hose. Sounds like something my mom would do should she catch me, my brother, or any other child in the act of vandalizing our home or property.

I’d really make sure you are watching your belongings now, no telling what little bratlet will do when you are gone. She may come onto your property and vandalize and/or hurt your horses.
