Child in my pasture- WWYD?

Kooki,

Didn’t you say Dave has a baby at home? This just really bothers me to think this girl might harm that baby or any other person in his home. After all the stuff she did to you, the phone calls (maybe) and now the flowers???
I commend Dave for stepping up but at what cost???

Yes, they have a small baby. That worries me too. Their youngest son is only five (the other boys are 9 and 15). Scares me that she might do something to harm any of them.

I’m also worried for Gran. She looked tired and drawn when I saw her. Both Dave and I are still trying to get in touch with the mother (Not that it’ll do much good :sigh:) but she should know what her spawn is doing to her Gran, and others.

I’m keeping my horsebox (horsevan?) ready to move. My truck and trailer can only take two, and I have three. I’m glad it hasn’t sold yet actually. I have a feeling that it might come in handy. I’ve also hung headcollers and leadropes on the house door.

I just have this feeling that she’s going to do something else… something worse. I could be wrong. I hope that I’m wrong. Farmer Dave is on stand-by too. I think he’s a very brave man for offering to take her in.

Come on to stick art land come on charleeeeeeeeeeeeee…We’ve “drawn and discussed” Parelli, Anky, rollkur,Sarah Stetner, horsey montey python, guess the movie, guess the songm several adventures of HRh, Ted and the late but great Kevin Bacon. The greatest achievement is that in over a year and over 9000 posts not one drop of snark is present!!! Sure it is the War and Peace of threads but it is fun to read. The sheer randomness of it is great for those with ADD! So come on over…we have cookies and mojitos and fruity dregs :)
Please stop! I don’t need any encouragement to find reasons to not clean the house :lol: I can feel myself weakening…

I got sucked in today… I am up to page 20something. I can’t stop reading, either. This is bad, bad, bad. All over the world, productivity is going down as people get sucked into stick horses, crazy crayons and impressive stallyons.

I’ve been following this thread, and I too get a very bad feeling about this young woman…she sounds very disturbed. It seems that anything in her way is open to abuse or destruction.I think Dave should rethink taking this project on,the possible problems mentioned previously could certainly happen, and I’d also be scared to let her around children or animals, period. So sorry so many are having trouble with this girl, funny how no one can get in touch with Mum,isin’t it?

I’ve been reading the crayon trainer thread too. Between this one, and that, I’m suprised I got any work done today!

Wait! I missed this about Farmer Dave offering to take her in.

What? Can you point me to where you explained that?

First of all, if he did offer, he really IS a saint of a man.

Secondly…I think it’s quite noble regardless. I realize this kid is a real PITA, but I too feel sorry for her. She’s not had the benefit of discipline and love together it sounds like. Been left to her own devices. Smart children left to their own devices can be dangerous things indeed.

I have always wanted to foster “troubled” children…I dunno why. Perhaps the same reason I like tough horses?

At any rate…I think you’ve handled things superbly and to be frank, you’ve likely done more in the last week for this kid’s future than anyone before you.

best wishes!

I agree with you. It seems like the more that is learned about this girl, the more disturbing stories that come to light. So far, her bad behavior has been manageable and no one and nothing has been permanently damaged, but I am starting to worry that one of the updates is going to contain something horrific.

On a brighter note, I am happy to hear that Gramps was awake and talking to Gran. Hope that he continues to improve.

As for the mother, are the police looking for her? I can’t believe she hasn’t at least checked in to see how her father is doing! She must be as big a monster as her daughter is.

Kooki continued support for you… its a shame you are being forced into such a defensive posture but you are smart to think ahead. So glad to hear Grandpa is doing better - that has to be a load of Gran’s mind.

Here is hoping that Saint Farmer Dave and his family will be up to the challenge. Being bookended by 9 & 15 yo boys might do a good bit for her, especially glad to hear she spent part of the day at church - it does indeed take a village. Hopefully with consistent discipline and kindness she will lose some of her anger and defensiveness and begin to let the real kid shine through. It sounds as tho she is at a crossroads in her life - and could go either way from here. Lets hope (for England’s sake) that the consistent, kind, quiet life in the village, surrounded by people keeping an eye on her will help her straighten out and become a model citizen. It takes a lot of caring to take on a project, especially one who has shown so many unsavory sides to herself already. I feel for her but I wouldn’t trust her for a second until she has shown some restraint.

Here you go BR
Oh my gosh…

Wow, I’m a little stunned here right now. Gran has decided that she can’t cope with child any more. Dave has offered to foster her- his oldest boy is adopted. I’m a little out of the loop, but I think child is getting a new caseworker tomorrow, and Gran is going to indicate that she wants Dave’s family to take her.

I’m not sure on the legal aspects, but what a super nice thing to do. My gosh, he’s a wonderful man. A wonderful family actually. God bless them!
The great thing about Dave’s home is that there’s always someone there. Both Dave and Mrs Dave’s Moms visit often, and Mrs Dave’s sister babysits the boys too. All of them are great people.

Glad things are OK

Just be very careful and try to not have contact with the girl. I know you want to help Granny, but it could cause problems for you again.
Farmer Dave should be very careful. Adopting a normal child is wonderful but bringing in trouble can disrupt everyone.
Best wishes for you and your horses and neighbors.

Thanks! He IS a danged saint.

This kid is receiving more blessings than most could hope for right now. I hope she some day realizes it.

what darren thread?
and as to stick art i leave it a lttle while then go back, haha loved my birthday one
not quite in the same context as why i am name myself goeslikestink but i did have a jolly good laugh

as i aalways do when i read them

gotta have one with dave and his cows, haha

this guy is a saint and really he should be careful as this little girl will need 24/7 supervison
she cannot be allowed to be with children alone wouldnt trsut her not even with the oldest
i can see why hes doing it as hes kind but he needs the support form the case workers
plus she would need to be evalued as perhaps she hasnt because the old caseworker was no good and perhaps mom got a way with alot i can the mom not being interested in the child perhaps and hasnt been around much, this would explain why the kid goes of and does her thing as she on her own a lot perhaps so she does things to get attention in anyway she can even shouting is attention-- so she needs to be accesed properly with doctors
caseworkers etc as this child is at risk-- ie borderline of abuse but not messacrily hitting or mental like, but being left on her own for long periods-- as neglect like that type thing
and this where shes learnt to be devious and naughty becuase she left to her own devices

my mum when we was little said i shall show you something if you ever naughty, she did to in them days shwoing you something if you didnt understand it could make more sense and in them days was easy to do, so she marched us all down to the local nick, sppoke to the man at the desk – and we got march to the re taining rooms as in cells blocks

do you know how scarey that is when you see that in real life----- as a deerrant worked well with all of us that day, my mom was a strict lady same as me dad
my dad was an army man, and an offcier, my mom was a nurse the only thing that was diffrent in there types of backgorund is my dads family were wealthy and my mom was born and bred in a workhouse she knew what a hard life was and she didnt want that for any of us and if she could make it as plain as day she didnt want any one to be naughty in youth or adult hood she did just that this was her way of making sure you got the message loud and clear-- and if none of had that day she actually made arrangements for us all to spend one hour in it----- god did we sh–t ourselves and we will never be naughty mom ever

perhaps this is what could be done- might make her realsie what actual locking up for 24/7 could be if she carried on doing what she does i dont know

I am sure that in the back of every adult’s mind is the kids they know or have heard about that were like that and didn’t make a turn around, but ended doing something seriously bad.

I hope this girl will be thoroughly evaluated, before they let anyone be in harms way, if she is one of those that just don’t care for anything in life but what crosses their mind at any one time.
Being smart or dumb doesn’t has much to do with that, except the smart ones can hide their asocial propensities better.

Thankfully, there are not but a few of those bad apples around.
She may not be one of them, although some of her actions may be pointing to it.:frowning:
JSwan, is this the latest deliberate attempt to kill the lurking troll? All these posts now showing some sympathy for the girl must have him screaming at his monitor!:lol: His head is probably about to explode by now!
