Child in my pasture- WWYD?
I tried to tell the story of this thread to a guy who is familar with BB culture. You just can’t make it as funny and sad and everything it was unless you were there.

I said " I want to tell you something really funny, but I am not sure I can"

People just get lost by the time you get to the wicked witch of the cheese:)
I was visiting family in another state recently and one of their friends that I had just met started describing something as being a certain crayon color. I kept looking at her trying to figure out why she, an adult, would be talking about descriptive crayon colors (nevermind that I chose Sky Blue for my crayon color of choice ) and trying to remember whether or not someone on the BB had this color she was talking about and did I know this person on a computer screen. (Don’t you love when a zillion things go through your brain in 5 seconds or less and you’re supposed to be able to make sense of them?) So I got daring and asked if she was connected with horses to which it was her turn to look puzzled. Nope, no horse connections but then she looked to me for some answers and I mumbled something about a horsey bulletin board and a thread about crayons…and it sounded silly in its own way, especially as my mom looked at me puzzled. I decided right then that sometimes it’s best not to explain what we enjoy and take for granted on this BB and I quickly changed the subject.:lol:

I’m not sure - it’s a bit complex unless one is a total wing-nut. I think just tell Gran you have some on-line buddies and we all send her big e-hugs. On the other hand, what has Farmer Dave thought of all this??? If even he can’t cope, I’m sure Gran couldn’t. You know how it is, we can complain about our own, but just don’t let anybody else say anything about them and we are like momma/poppa bears.

Take care Kookie - till we meet again under different circumstances!

So sorry for Gran, but so happy for you that evil spawn and evil spawn of evil spawn have relocated.

Please have a cream tea. That would work for me, if I could get them here.

Hope your mare’s okay!

Gramps is gone?! Oh wow, I feel awful, I haven’t kept up with this thread for over a week. That’s so sad. What happened?
I take it the kid and her mom are gone?

Tried to post last night , but my reply got eaten.:frowning:

Sorry about Grandpa, that’s too bad. But, it sounds like Gran will have support from her good daughters. Glad that Drunk Mom & Demon Spawn are gone. (and, no, I wouldn’t show this thread to Gran!)

Enjoy your peace and quiet, hope you have a lovely Sunday hack!

p.s. I bet you never could have imagined what this thread would turn into when you first started it, huh? Congrats on over 1,000 posts, AND someone banned! Wow!

The Good Witch

And so the good witch KookiCat defeated the bad witch and her evil spawn, and emerged from the rabbit hole, leaving Alice and the tea and cheese party behind forever, we hope, and followed the yellow brick road past the pub, where the evil witch no longer bought her brew, hoping that the good knights PC Owen and Farmer Dave were happy and healthy, and so
KookiCat and her horses lived happily everafter.
Boy, I wish all the troubles on this BB ended this well for the OP.

Honestly, I had no idea this would get such a life of it’s own!

I agree- there’s no way I could show this to Gran. What I’m doing is printing the replies with good wishes etc and I’ll bind them togther to pass on to her.

Grandad had an infection. :frowning: :frowning: I don’t know many other details, though he had been ill for a while. Gran has moved in with her youngest daughter- YD lives on the coast, and Grandad always loved the sea.

Farmer Dave had been busy for the past few days. (Just got a load of new young cows on the farm) so I’ve not really had chace to speak to him. Mrs Farmer Dave is very relieved that Spawn didn’t come live with them.

KC, have a great hack this weekend. Think of it as a well earned mini-vacation.

Sorry to here about Grandpa, but glad to hear Gran can move in with good daughter.

Here’s fingers croassed that drunken daughter doesn’t wind up with Gran’s house. Doesn’t sound like her cup of tea, but if it’s free for her to move in to… she does sound like the type to take advantage when it benefits her. Yuck.

Cheers and good wishes to Farmer Dave’s household and PC Owen!!

What a great conclusion to the story!!

You just can’t MAKE UP stuff this good in novels.

Good, Evil, Spawn, Family Intrigue, Horses, the seascape…

I’m thinking we should send a copy of this thread over to Jilly Cooper or someone, it would be a best seller!!

I was worried about the same thing; KC noted it was a rental house.

Thanks everyone.

I’ve been thinking of starting a blog about village life- would anyone be interested in reading it?

1 week of your life interested us enough for 62 pages, 1 banning and 2 planned invasions. I had to say that is something proven to be worth reading:)

sad for gran, wasnt them that did your genorator was it on way out of leaving town
wouldnt put it pass them,

you will have to wait bit till things are sorted ie house funeral and whatknot before they gone for good sad as it is, but will be so much better in the long run

and matey that twitch of looking over your schoulder every flipping minute will dissapear
but wiat until everything final and done with the you can breath a long sigh of releif along with dave and pc owen

not nice i know but its true and you know it is and to be honest i wouldnt give gran a copy
just mark it down to an expreince that you dont want repeated

ditto!

As someone once said, “You can’t make this … errrr … stuff up!” Go for it on the blog/novel/dramedy.

But you have to incorporate Crazy Crayola Trainer Lady and the Missing Horse Alert (see the Hunter/Jumper forum) into it as well. Or you could crib from the Florida Horse Saga (archives).

On a more serious note, I’m sorry for Gran’s loss. I also hope that somehow the kid in the equation gets the help that she needs and doesn’t slip through the cracks. Because it’ll just get worse if she does. :frowning:

(snork)… (nasal beer spew)…equinelaw you owe me a new keyboard…

My condolences to Gran on the loss of her beloved husband. I hope that living by the sea with their youngest daughter brings her fond memories of her long marriage.

Our course, my best to you, your SO, your horses, Constable Owen, and Farmer Dave and his nice family and all his cows. Did I miss anybody?

I’m looking forward to your blog on village life.

This saga unfolded in all of - what - 18 days! Seems longer and so much happened. Are we up to village life with Kookie - of course, bring 'er on! We are ready and waiting to meet all sorts of eccenric English characters and the horses involved. Our own little mini-series.

I took the Margarita salad to a wedding dinner we were helping make and got lots of compliments. Thanks.

If Awful Daughter were to make moves at renting next door, I hope you will find out who the owner is and fill them in on the type of tennants they would be. Hope Gran settles in with Nice Daughter.
