Chloe FILLY 4/10 - on CAM 1 tonight, Dove Filly! 4/5 - Dove/Ruby CAM 2 tonight (4/11

I actually have two coming. My TB mare (in foal to a TB stallion) is foaling out at my friends place. She’s gonna give me a call when she goes into labor, best kind of mare stare I’ve heard of  She’s due the 15th, but usually goes a few days early. I have a staff meeting on April 12th in the evening so I’m betting it will be then…

My mare here at home is ‘due’ the 19th. That’s day 325 for her, she usually likes to foal between day 320 and 325. She’s started bagging up a little bit now, so she’s right on schedule. She’s a West/TB in foal to a DWB/TB. I’m super excited about this little foal, I’ve known the sire since he was a foal couldn’t wait for him to grow up, start showing and get approved! She goes under the cam next week, but I’m not sure she’ll be up on mare stare…I’m not that technologically inclined

I love the babies… I love foaling season… everything but the lack of sleep! I assume that you are going to post PHOTOS of your babies when they are born!!!

Good golly she is peeing a lot!!! or trying to at least!!!

I have a baby addiction, so I will definitely be posting pictures of babies that make their appearance!!

That mini mare has been up and down a lot in the little bit of time I’ve watched her last night and tonight. It worries me. I had a mini mare that I foaled out twice, and it was too much for me to take. I gelded my stud, and sold them as pets!

She is out of an Avignon mare…if she does well with this foal I am seriously thinking about Tanzeln…I think that would be a nice cross…

And she is SOOOOO huge… it prob means absolutly nothing (her size) but it just scares the snot out of me!!)

I’ve been watching the last couple of days. I can’t believe Chloe didn’t foal last night.

dressagetraks - my good mare’s damsire is Vincent and is by Butow. What’s the rest of the breeding on your mare?

I only bred one mare last year and while all was good at day 17 she came up empty on day 30. It was late in the year and the next try didn’t work, argh, so that’s the long version of why I’m getting my foal watch fix watching Chloe  Go Chloe!

Man… you better go drain lake Erie out there! is it possible to her to pee anymore???

I’m watching the mini, looks to be sleeping…

That is right… I couldn’t remember if our girls were that closely related or not! Who is she o/o (or her dam sire??). My girl’s dam sire is Ricardo. I have Tanzania who is the dam to the approved stallion Tycoon (I have his full brother - and the last of that cross of Onassis/Tanzania). We bought her from Pam a few years ago… she is such a sweet mare.

I have a Tanzeln baby coming this year too - that is the maiden mare that is due next week. I LOVE the Cassels - they are SUPER easy to deal with and just can’t say enough good about them! And we used frozen and MAN is he fertile! My vet (a country vet) had never done frozen before - John talked him through it on what to do and BAM we had a preg with one try. So my vet now jokingly brags that he is at 100% for frozen success LOL.

Maybe someone should tell Chloe that she’d be a heck of a lot more comfortable if she just had the foal…

I know!!! Every other mare that I have (well, not the maiden not sure with her either) I would have gone out there, tossed more hay, cleaned the poop etc… but I am afraid to do anything that might slow her down even more!!!:lol: She has peed ALOT though tonight!!! Hopefully if she foals she will do it in the least wet spot LOL.

I like Vincent’s old lines… there aren’t a lot of him out there still.

I HAVE numerous times. I don’t think she believes me! I’ve also told her the up in grain and hay doesn’t end after the baby is born…

Good lord she’s all sunken in and sweaty and all, that baby wants to come out so bad. I swear he’s gonna stick a white flag out of there before too long. I don’t know why she is holding onto him so hard…

She is by Troy - out of Dondola Vom Castel by Avignon II

I’m telling you, it’s gonna be “come monday” and barn name Custer

There are a few Vincent offspring still around here as he stood here in CO. My mare’s dam is gone now but I do know someone with a Vincent gelding.

A Troy g’daughter how cool! You know he passed too recently (all the grand old men are going lately)? That is pretty cool!

Jaeger - HUSH YOUR MOUTH!!! She will not make Monday. And I can’t name HER that anyway 'cause I have to have an “S” name! hmmmph so there! LOL!!!:lol::lol:

Vincent is just not one of the ones that has had tons of kids out there. Esp down here in the south!

ok then Scum Monday, or Some Monday or hmmm let me think…

(Shhhh, I’m not here)

My Vincent mare is Pregelstrand on the other side. I’d like to breed her to Tanzeln maybe in a future year, although I’m still a bit hesitant on the Pregelstrand. If the dam and sire have the same damsire, is that too close?

I agree that the Cassels are wonderful people. I was buying a great filly from them, although I had to let her go back partway through after our family got hit with major unexpected bills, snarls, and issues related to my mother. She’s got Alzheimer’s disease and is now living in my back yard in a trailer I got her. I should have taken over her finances about 6 months before I did, but boy, it’s hard to see clearly when it’s a gradual change. Then, I got badly injured last year, too, also knocking all horse plans askew and on hold. Nevertheless, the Cassels were nothing but great to deal with, and I still hope to maybe buy that girl again down the road.

(Back to the coal mines. Sigh. Hey, Chloe, I’m not here.)

Sorry…MY mare is by Troy out of Dondola Vom Castell - the coming foal will be a Troy grandbaby…yes, bummed that he died…he’s a pretty cool guy…
