Going soon…
So, when WAS her due date? Isn’t “normal” up to two weeks either way?
Oh wow - two in one night??? Might have to stay up! After all I am sitting here driving myself nuts trying to figure out why I have a gorgeous picture on my new foal cam when I hook it to tv but through dazzle Heather and I are getting a really bad pic. Its wired so its not interference…and its really perfect on my tv…just wont give me a decent pic on marestare or my PC…anyone have any clues??
I know we say this every night, but I feel I need to repeat it, for tradition’s sake. She sure looks uncomfortable tonight Her tail certainly is working overtime.
One arm up for filly, two for colt!
HEHEHEHE!!! I swear this mare will be the death of me! I should flip over the the happiest preg mare on the face of the earth… Dove. Did y’all see her hit me with her tail?? !!! She did that on purpose LOL.
Here is the bad thing… I don’t think I’m going to get my other cam up and running tonight. IF Dove lasts till tomorrow I can get another Dazzle, IF Chloe goes tonight and Dove doesn’t I can put Dove in the MS stall and it isn’t a big deal… If they both do end up going tonight all bets are off. I HOPE that if they both go tonight I can at least have time to switch cams… All I have to do is change the channel I think.
She is worse tonight than she normallly is though. I thought about changing the title of the thread but what fun would that be??? LOL NOW it is true LOL.
Oh… she was bred on 4/24, her “11 month” due date is or was 3/21, her 342 day is today/tomorrow (confused with the leap year thing)… y’all want to see Dove and see if I can swap between the two cams?
I think that Chloe is going to go tonight. She’s looking even more uncomfortable than she did before
Not to mention the moon change makes a mare do that. I think it’s tonight also.
OK I am off tonight and can devote my full attention to sending happy thoughts to the birthing chamber. This mare is going to kill us all. You would think she would figure out she would be much more comfortable if she would just pop it out like a watermelon seed
Well I will tell you that I have “that feeling” about her tonight. This is the first night that I’ve had that feeling (you know when you just KNOW).
Boy the way she is standing right now she looks so sunken in and like she’s dropped her belly a ton.
Are you going to wrap her tail? When I wrap mine I go a couple turns and then pick up a lock of hair and wrap over it again. It kind of locks the wrap in place so it will not slide down with all that tail swishing.
She sure looks like she is foaling tonight!
:lol: Sorry Tallabred… that is just funny!
I’ve wrapped her tail everynight for the past week. The last - what is it guys 3 or 4 nights? - she got the wrap off (except last night, last night stayed on pretty well!). I’m not wrapping her tail again. I’m also not going into the stall again unless she goes down and starts to heave/water breaks. I don’t want to slow her down anymore than she already is LOL! So ignore the poop piles and the wet hay - it will all come out and be replaced when she foals.
I agree, I think she has shifted down more tonight also and is sunk in more. I really think she will go tonight.
I had read that you had problems with having the wrap stay on. Do you already wrap with the tail hair caught in the wrap? It really helps(My vet taught me that trick).
That is a good decision to leave her alone. I guess you will just have to boil water!
What is the link to the cam? thanks!
The link is in the very first post in this thread
Here, I’ll make it easy: http://www.marestare.com/emerald.php
OH, ok Tallabred… that did give me a chuckle though!! yes, my wraps are pretty good about staying on generally - she is the only one that has managed to get them off. And you notice guys that her tail isn’t any less active WITHOUT the wrap as it is WITH the wrap! LOL.
I’ve used the hair trick for the tail wrap. I was SO proud of myself the first time I wrapped a tail like that, thought for SURE it would never come off. Too good to be true. My mare always foals with her tail wrap off. It’s actually a great indicator of her foaling time. The night she foals, she won’t let me put the wrap back on.
I’d love to say that I’m patiently waiting for Chloe to foal. But I’m not gonna lie. I want to see that baby NOW
you and me both junebug! I’m pretty excited to see this baby.
So anyone up for taking bets on when she foals?
I predict tonight by midnight - remember I’m on CST!
thanks for the link!
