Chloe FILLY 4/10 - on CAM 1 tonight, Dove Filly! 4/5 - Dove/Ruby CAM 2 tonight (4/11

Ok I have lost my feed and can’t get it back. Anyone know what’s going on.

Just checked on both and I get them fine.

I watched Chloe for several seconds, and she was just standing, did NOT swish her tail, kick, just standing. Is this the right mare?

That poor mini . . .

I can see them just fine…both seem to be ready to settle in for another night…

I can not believe the mini hasn’t gone yet!

And now that my mare is on marestare I cant believe how large she looks from above!

OK ladies, I’m awake what did I miss??? LOL

BTW - I just want to say this is why I put the mares on marestare this year and I want to thiank everyone. I actually could sleep knowing that there was someone watching my mares and that they would call me to let me know if one of them went down or looked like they were serious. So I actually got almost 8 hours of sleep today (still feel like I could use more, but man I feel better!!). There are times I love the equine community and this is one of them. Thank you all! Plus it is nice to have someone to “chat” with and so forth while waiting for the mommas to drop their burdens!

I see Chloe actually is looking calmer… I’m telling y’all I’ve felt that we were going to have a double header with these two. Was it Dressagetraks or mom that called it last year??? LOL.

I’m going to go out and do evening chores in a little bit - will pick the stalls and put down more hay in Chloe’s lake…

So how does this work - everytime you lay your head down to rest and Chloe takes a quick lie down, the phone rings off the hook with all the COTHers doing their bit? How do you get any peace?

You know, actually it doesn’t. I’ve had a couple of people email me privately, to let me know that they would watch her/them. I would sleep (this is at night) and when they have to go to bed, they will call me to wake me up for my “shift”… and since it is primarily horse people that are watching (and breeders) no one has called to say that one of my horses are getting serious (and this was for the other two also) except once - and that night the pony DID go, the watcher just called 2 hours too early LOL. Well let me back that up… I trust that the breeders are watching and will know (and I trust this because of the private calls/emails etc) and it seems that the people on marestare have seen enough foalings that I actually don’t get inundated with calls… what is everyone else’s experience that has done marestare?

I have also had some private offers from fellow COTHers that live closer to me to come and help me physically - again, totally out of the blue and much appreciated!!! I think I’m ok, but it is the THOUGHT of it!!! We all complain about each other and the “crazy things” we do to each other (we being a very loosly used word LOL), but when push comes to shove, we horse people stick together and help each other out. I’m still a little brain fried/tired so I hope that all makes sense!!

Today’s sleep was actually very good and very much needed (I think I’m avg less than one hour of true sleep a night since LAST Sun) - I’m still sleep deprived, but I don’t feel like a walking zombie anymore.

AWWWW, Dove is down taking a nap (for the big event tonight??) and is sooooo cute. She looks like a large pony lying there instead of a grown horse.

Well, I’d gladly come and help you out since you live in lovely sunny, colourful, Florida and my foal is not due until August and I’d love a trip right about now. Nah, can’t complain, Spring is upon us and it is really nice right now. After all that grey rain, we get a bit sick of the dreariness of it all.

Today wasn’t as sunny and we are supposed to get storms tomorrow night (will believe it when I see it though).

OK, update on the mares.

Chloe - she is about the same. I’m not sure about her, sometimes I think maybe, sometimes not at all. She is much quieter tonight/today though.

Dove - I’m going on a limb and saying that she will have the baby tonight. Not only do we have the wax this am, and the white milk (that is sweet), and sunk in, but she is also disinterested in her dinner tonight.

Yeah! Go Dove! That’s all good stuff.

Chloe…I think she enjoys the torture.

I am right there with you!!! I think you are correct!

Anybody else lost their mare stare on both Chloe and Dove? When I click on them it doesn’t say “connecting.”

Is Chloe a competitive sort? Maybe when Dove starts to go and starts getting all the attention, Chloe will have to attract some herself.

My CB/Trak cross is constantly convinced that she is better than “those other inferior horses.” I’m sure if she were foaling, she wouldn’t want to be beaten at anything by one of “them.” She already wants to be groomed first, last, and in the middle; in fact, why should I groom one of “them” instead anyway? Watching her (diva incarnate) and the Vincent mare (hyper dingbat incarnate) both with foals next year ought to be fun.

Jaegermonster has said that she has had some probs today connecting, but I’ve had both mares up all day with no issues (even clear screens for once!). Were you ever able to conect Trakmom?

As for Chloe being competitive… I don’t think she is overly competitive - esp when it comes to attention. She is kind of an odd little bird. But she did do hunters supposidly for a while up in CA and apparently had a pretty good future in the ring until she injured her stifle, so she has to have some sort of drive! But I’m kind of hoping/scared that she will go if Dove does just 'cause.

Yes, I’m back looking at the 2 of them. We’re having thunderstorms right now. Maybe that had something to do with it. I might get hit by lightening, but I want to see those babies being born.

Well don’t get hit by lightening!!! I’m hoping that one or both of them will get down to bussiness now that it is dark here. Trust me if I could wave a wand and make it happen now I would!!

Chloe is starting to look promising…

Hi, y’all. This is Chloe. I called Trakmom and told her what to say. I’ve heard that you have said some very unflattering things about me. And now that Dove wants to horn in she is getting all of the attention; you think she is soooo sweet. Well, let me tell you, I have been suffering alllll week (hoof across forehead/eyes rolled up). This getting ready to birth a horse is no easy task. That lady that takes care of me doesn’t make it any easier, I’ll tell you. I just want to rest in my stall, but nooo. She makes me go outside and just when I have my stall just the way I want it, she changes everything–says she’s cleaning. She even whacked me on my rump when my beautiful tail accidentally slammed across her face. What can I say–it was an accident. You just go ahead and say all the nice things you want to about Dove. It’s OK. After all, I’ve got all the looks and personality.

OK, I"m CRYING I"m laughing so hard… I can’t even type… stop… omg that is classic.

This is Chloe with more whining - she even puts my private time on the world wide web for everyone to see and comment. And Junebug will you shut up. The more you say that the more I’m danged well not doing it.
