Chloe FILLY 4/10 - on CAM 1 tonight, Dove Filly! 4/5 - Dove/Ruby CAM 2 tonight (4/11

Just checked in on Dove, and I could swear that I saw a foal flat out in the bedding. I realized after adjusting brightness correctly that it was just the way that the bedding was stirred up right there. It’s almost smack in the center of the screen. I could see a head, ears . . . still can see them, only with brightness right, it looks more like bedding and less like a foal.

This is like those “what do you see in the clouds” exercises. I’m now seeing foals in the bedding. I’ve been watching Marestare too long.

It’s midnight - Good night, Chloe; Good night, Dove. If I wake up and can’t sleep (since you have ruined my sleep patterns)(well, you and my daughter in England, so as not to make you feel tooooo bad)
I shall come and check on you then.

uggggg… These mares are driving me nuts!!! Both of them!!! I’m about to go out and check them up close and personal, but I can’t believe that Dove didn’t go last night. Talk about your April Fool’s Day joke!!! I watched both mares lie down and look for all the world that they were about to go, and then NOTHING. Dove has been rooted for the past hour in one spot. Chloe even lay down and was flipping her tail while laying down like she was thinking about it… I’m telling you, it is their form of water torture. At least that poor mini finally had her baby and all went well!!! They haven’t posted if it was a colt or a filly though.

The mini foaled!! It is a boy, oh my god that is the cutest thing. She, Fancy, foaled about 5:00 this am.
So, NEXT!?

i know, i know… these mares are going to kill me!

Since 3:30 they have both been up and down, the tails even flipping/rigid when they are down - and both flat out quickly not, resting sternal then going flat, but laying down and going flat almost immed… dove has been yawning and chloe has been stretching a lot (not sure if she is yawning, can’t see her well enough - or her face i mean)…

Well, I am certaily glad I went to sleep last night and didnt stay awake for the girls! Now I still have a chance of catching them!

Hi, I’m checking in again. I see everything is as it was last night. Why don’t you take them out one at a time and run them as if they were going through an inspection. Get them moving!

You poor thing, they are really testing your endurance aren’t they? I can’t believe even the MINI has foaled before your girls. (at least thats what they say, but honestly I have not yet seen the baby on the camera, just Fancy)

Mine did not foal either. We had a cold front come through, I’m kicking them out for the day in a little bit.

oops yes, now I see Fancy’s baby. He is wearing a little sweater, so cute!

ok here is the deal. Neither mare ate breakfast - there is still 90% of Dove’s grain left behind, and about 50% of Chloe’s. Significant - esp for the Hoover!

I am working from home today - had to go into to work briefly for a Shelter Hearing at Court, but am home now. As soon as I finish a conference call (a case transfer staffing) I will go out to the barn and turn the girls out while I clean stalls etc. We are due to get thunder storms starting at around noon - will have to close windows and adjust recievers for the cams when that happens so may have to deal with some static etc at that time. All the girls are in their stalls today. I’m hoping that between them being so close and the storms that one or both will go today - preferably early rather than late. I am SHOCKED that Dove didn’t go last night - she was up and down a lot esp between 3 and 5 am - last time at almost 6 am and she went straight to FLAT out on her side then. LOTS of poop in both stalls and all of it loose.

Do you notice how Chloe is pulling one hind leg up and then the other? especially her right hind leg. I think she is cramping. It’s a race–who will go first–dove or Chloe?

i’ve been watching her… she (chloe) is much more quiet today - she is still lifting a leg, but she isn’t as “violent” about her tail or kicking etc). Def uncomfortable and looking more promising for sure!

Call is almost over and I’ll kick them out for a little while and clean stalls.

Oh and did you see her rubbing her whole body on the wall a little while ago? esp her right side like you said…

Poor babies. They will feel SOOOO much better once they just go ahead and put those babies on the ground. I’m always very sympathetic with these broodmares… it’s such a relief for everyone to just get those babies born.

Well Dove just had a nice little nap… .guess it is time for me to clean stalls (wanted to give her time to rest and get a little sleep).

I cannot believe that neither of them have went yet! I’m so glad I did’nt stay up all night watching. Poor Anissa, you must be exhausted. Hopefully at least one will go today for you…

Oh Anissa - I am so sorry that they are torturing you so. Hopefully the babies will be so gorgeous, that you’ll immediately forget and forgive the sleep depravation!!! LOL Fingers crossed for safe, easy foalings…SOON!

Anissa - Did you forget to tell them that I was gone! I thought for sure they would pop if I left! They should be all done so that we could meet at Darren’s benefit!

Oh well, You can give me a call if you need to now - I am home!

Speaking of Darren’s benefit. They have some really nice things they are going to auction off. I’m sure they will raise a pile of money for him. That bill is going to be astronomical with all the days he’s spending in intensive care. If you go to the Eventing section you’ll find the thread there.

Here is the status. Both mares were slightly sweaty - but that may not mean anything since it is warm out right now. Both mares have WHITE milk (YEAH!!). Dove has a little bit of wax (but she is maiden so who knows). Everything else is exactly the same.

Chloe does not want to be still and dove is ever the lady. Dove also appeared to have milk on her leg (dried) - not a lot, just some.

Could this be a very cruel April Fool’s Day joke???

(speaking of which, I thought about putting one of the other mares with her foal in the stall and saying that they had foaled out in the field… LOL… I resisted though).

Thanks one and all… I’m actually doing OK. Yesterday’s sleep helped tremendously and I’m about to go lie down for a little while again.
