Chloe FILLY 4/10 - on CAM 1 tonight, Dove Filly! 4/5 - Dove/Ruby CAM 2 tonight (4/11

She’s really shifting her hind end around right now, and not tail swishy…

That was a bigg contraction or baby movement…

MARE DOWN! MARE DOWN!!!

College students are great foal watchers  Last year I recruited my daughters roommate and she came out and shared watching the fat mare cam with me. We each did half nights. We called it an unpaid internship  This year she has a paid internship at a big breeding farm in Kentucky. I talked to her the other day. She speaks fondly of only having 2 foals to deal with unlike the 50 she’s dealing with now!

false alarm…

I hope that was a good roll Chloe…

Maybe she was positioning baby

ok, library is closing so I have to go home. I’m sure by the time I make it back on the foals will have popped out and will be standing already.

Bye, GF… sure hope you’re right!

Chloe and Dove, I hope to see a healthy foal or two in the morning! (hint, hint) I’m off to bed.

Bye, JodyB, too… thanks for sticking with me til midnight!!

Does anyone know what she does in that corner? She seems to stay in that spot alllll the time. Is she eating hay?? Looking out a window? Sleeping?

OMG y’all are so funny (it is really Anissa now - mom has passed the torch and went to bed to get some sleep LOL). Glad y’all kept mom amused! I take it Chloe went down briefly and rolled? Sounds like a reposition to me… So come on mare, let’s get down to business!@!!! She is def different than every other night, and her tail is starting to pick up business and starting to look irritated again… hmm…

chloe or dove?

Chloe likes to stand on that far wall - that is in front of her door and also is the wall that shares wtih Dove. Dove’s far wall is also the wall in front of her door, and her wall is “open” - there are slats of boards that have openings and she can see out to the outside paddocks/catch the breeze. Hard to explain - there might be a photo somewhere of what it is… When Dove is under the cam she is over next to Chloe’s wall …

She’s actually just placating you. She wrote a sign on a dry erase and told us before you came back… :uhoh:

You know, I actually would believe that of her! lol

Chloe has been having those contractions again. I never stay up this late and my little dog(who sleeps with me) doesn’t know what to make of this late night business. He just bounces into the bedroom when I finally turn off the computer.

maybe they just don’t want to ruin all the nice hay that you’ve used to bed the stall with?

hahaha. My dog, at 8:30, will bark at you until you go to bed. Seriously, will just bark and not stop. She is definitely the ruler of the house…

My little dog, Otto, (a schnauzer) also is pretty upset with me… he too sleeps in the bed with me and is mighty peeved that we haven’t been to bed in a week or more… he goes back and forth to the bedroom and my office all night long. LOL

And I don’t know about not wanting to ruin all the hay… have you see Lake Erie in Chloe’s stall??? She is the messiest mare around. Dove, now she is the neat freak (excpet for the dunking the hay thing LOL). I think that they are just thrilled with the buffet that is alrady fluffed and spread for their enjoyment and eating pleasures LOL.

I used to think it was extravagant to bed in hay… but a good back up plan if you got caught off guard. Well, I actually would have come out cheaper to bed in hay! I ordered 8 bales of straw. without asking the price. I was shocked, it was $70 for the 8 bales. Granted, they are nice big bales, but still… I have more grass hay than I need and if I had checked ahead on pricing, might have just bedded my mares in grass hay!

I bet it’s a total PITA to clean a stall bedded in hay. Even worse than straw?

My cat that uses me as a pillow is rather upset I am up so late as well… And I was going to call it a night… But hubby started to make a late night dinner… So I stay up… mmmmmm

So, I don’t think I read earlier… Can you give us the daily Vulva and Teat Report?
