Dove is waxed, right? this is the second night?
Did Princess Chloe ever wax?
Dove dunks her hay in her water before she eats it?!?? I thought my horse was the only one that did that!
I don’t know if it is worse than cleaning straw, but I hate the hay… I end up burning the hay everyother day or so… I can’t spread it in my spreader as it clogs it up, so I end up cleaning stalls twice. 'cause the manure doesn’t burn… sigh so it is shake out the manure and then spread that and pick out all the hay and burn it…

Chloe’s vulva is long/loose/open/swollen enough for her to lay down and the baby to walk out of her. Teats are elongated and “moist” and are softer than her bag which is warm/hard. She expresses white milk. No wax.
Dove’s vulva is loose and open slightly (both mares are reddish on the inside not pink), but isn’t as elongagted - which isn’t as unusual for a maiden ??? I have that from a breeder friend of mine… I’ve only been involved with one other maiden and that was in 2003 so I don’t remember how “long” she got prior to foaling. She is also swollen. Teats… her bag is full, warm and tight. Teats are not elongated, but are soft and are not pointed in together, but straight down. She also expresses white milk and had tiny beads of wax this evening. Maidens… sigh.
Chloe is not waxed unless she did that since 6:30 pm tonight.
And yes, Dove dunks her hay… if you watch her you can catch her in action… mom says she is making her “wine” to go with dinner LOL.
I came in to check on the girls and all I see is the hay dunker. LOL
You do know they are both going to go at the same time and really make you crazy. Glad your Mom is there to at least give you a bit of a repreive. Hoping tonight is the night. Have to go back and watch now. 
You would think with all the contractions she’s had her water would have broken by now.
you would have thought that she would be ready to lay down and push the sucker out by now. I’m not seeing her having contractions though… uncomfortable yes, and starting to pick up in “pains” but not the side rippeling contractions??? I keep hoping that she will just give it up and lie down and put us all out of our misery!
And in a way I will WELCOME her and Dove to go at the same time. I would much rather have both go tonight (at anytime) and be done with it and be able to catch upon sleep tomorrow night onwards than deal with Chloe and then stil lhave to foal watch for Dove.
I’m back, and no babies :no: I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they both go tonight so you can get some sleep!
Don’t worry… when I go to sleep in a minute, they will go… Yes, I have THAT big of an impact on the universe… It is rather burdensome being so special

Chloe was doing something a while ago that looked like contractions to me. I looked like she was pushing with her front legs and got her rump almost down to her hocks and then she would stand up and swish her tail.
Oh, I missed that… but i’ve seen her do that once or twice in the past few days… COME ON MARE… geez just spit the baby out already!!!
I tell you, you need to put her lead rope on and jog her around the pasture for a little while. Dove too. Of course, I recommend waiting until daylight.

My computer has been so slow tonight, but I am here. Perhaps the mods were cleaning up. I confess to snoozing in front of the tv earlier so am wide awake now and it is midnight on the west coast.
Paniced when I read “Mare down, mare down, mare down” - thought I’d missed it while I napped. Had a visit from your Mom, but she didn’t share any bad things about you … back to marestare.
Wow. This is getting exciting. Dove is standing in a different place and chloe is doing nothing again. Geez. and I am checking on them at 3 am… why… because I am addicted?

It’s now after 3am, and I’m going to bed. I’ve decided Chloe doesn’t want the responsibilities of parenthood and will just be preggers the rest of her life.
I was about to head to bed, but then I noticed Dove laid down… though it looks like she may just be napping? Then again, I’m all for the “push it out” now that she’s not on her feet
Dove I believe is napping and given the hour of the night etc I’m betting she WON’T have the baby tonight. And Chloe… just started getting antsy again… silly mare
BTW Trakmom - not only did I leave them out all day (and they did walk around etc out there), but I also made the jog back to the barn yesterday and today, and jog to the paddock… (and the paddock is at the top of a hill at the back of the 5 acres.).
I just can’t believe there are no foals! Dove never moves when I look at the cam. I think she is really just a fat horse statue in that stall with some manure piles thrown in there for effect. Chloe… well, Chloe is Chloe. Enough said.
