Chloe FILLY 4/10 - on CAM 1 tonight, Dove Filly! 4/5 - Dove/Ruby CAM 2 tonight (4/11

I know… I am hoping that one or both goes tonight… if she would just lay down I think the baby would SLIDE out on it’s own.

I’m off for a shower (here that mares???).

Just think, one of the first things Dove is going to teach her new little son or daughter is how to make grass wine or beer or what ever it is that Dove is making. “See you put four or five good mouthfuls in the water and wait a while and then start eating it. You don’t have to worry about cleaning up. The nice lady does that, so in the evening you have nice clean water to start your new batch.”

he he he

OK just to make sure we’re all on the same page here… how many days does this make for Chloe? For Dove?

I’m trying to get a good profile of Chloe to see if her belly has got a point on it… not sure I see one though. But, the milk report is encouraging.

Apparently ME taking a shower didn’t work either LOL… oh well, still daylight here.

Chloe is at day 346 (I think… I am confused about the leap year thing… not sure if that is "calculated into the equation for the foaling calculators?).

And Dove is on day 337 today.

Dove has a def point, Chloe does as well, but not as defined as Dove’s is, but the baby has shifted down/back more than it was this am from what I can see…

Ah, so your girls are just a hair ahead of mine.
Chloe at 346, mine that I think is getting serious is 341 today.
Dove at 337, my #2 mare at 333.

So yours are 9 days apart, on last breeding dates, mine are 8 days apart. My #1 got a pointy tummy today, and her pH has dropped. I think I could be within 24 hours on her. My #2 has had 5 previous foals, so she will not foal as early as Dove, being a maiden. But I think when #1 foals, she will become very motivated and try to catch up.

So, missy acottongim, which one of your girls do you think will go first?

Chloe seems to be smelling her stall a lot this evening. Looking for a place to lay down?

(btw - I keep forgetting to tell you, but I’m rooting for your mares to hurry up too!!! - which daddys/mommys are we waiting to see the product of???)

As for who I think will go first?? I have no idea. Looking at the “signs” of the mares, I think Chloe has the edge - and I’m going by what the milk looks like, and her body, etc. But Dove is such a “good girl” I give her the edge on just compliance LOL.

Over all, I will go with Chloe first.

And yes, I’ve been watching her… she isn’t as “pissy” with tail/kickign/biting, but she is walking a bit tonight and not wanting to stand like a statue like she did last night… LOL.

Mine are AQHA mares. #1 is Tess, who was a big time lungeliner, then when she was not going to make a 2YO congress horse, her owner decided to breed her… and she got stuck as a broodmare. I bought her in foal, then gave her last year off and send her to training-- which she far prefers. But, her 2YO is SO NICE that I coud not resist breeding again. The sire of her baby is Zips Chocolate Chip, world champion and sire of many world champions-- and a very handsome fellow to boot.

My #2 is Abby, a pretty sorrel daughter of world champion and world champion sire Docs Bo Acres. She has been a pet and broodmare over the years, and LOVES being pregnant, but LOVES having a baby to care for even more. She could win worlds best mom, hands down. She is having a baby by Radical Rodder, who is also a world champion and multiple world champion sire.

These babies will have much better family trees than I do! The rain is starting to come down hard, and the thunder is rumbling. I think tonite will be the night to find out if a good storm makes any difference to Tess. I have cleaned her udders/bag thoroughly, but have not wrapped her tail. I haven’t seen any thing to say for sure that tonight’s the night.

GOOD LUCK ! I know next to nothing about QH (have been around a few and so forth, but don’t claim to know them or the bloodlines) but even I know Zips Chocolate Chip! need photos after yours are born!!

I bred my mare to Don’t skip this Chip (Zip’s Chocolate Chip) for an Appendix a couple of years ago; sadly she didn’t take in two breedings, or I’d have something to ride by now. No I’m expecting an Irish foal out of same TB mare, mainly because I wanted the temperament they would give me.

ok here’s a name

'Sinterminable

get it?

Ok Chloe is down, looks like we might have liftoff?

False alarm! I really hope one foals tonight. I’ll be up working on my senior thesis anyway.

OK you got me all excited, did she get right back up?

Duh dumb question. OBVIOUSLY she got back up. I"ve been watching her too long, I"m starting to sound stupid.

i missed it but apparently so… i wasn’t gone THAT long, just long enough to make a pbj. She is walking the stall a lot now… hmmmm…

Did you put weights in Chloe’s tail wrap? She’s not getting nearly the height swishing her tail as she did a few nights ago.

Nope… AND it is the same one from last night. Told her that if she foals tonight I will take it off her as soon as the placenta passes LOL.

Well my girls missed the 7:30 time frame… sigh

Alrighty, bedtime for me! Tomorrow is the last day shift I have until my mare foals (in two weeks or so) so I’ll have plenty of marestare time after tomorrow!

So if Chloe doesn’t want me to see her foal, she’d better go tonight
