If my closet weren’t already overfull for someone who shows as lightly as I do
And you don’t want to be hasty, especially if they come back into fashion (and the weather is crisp)! … on the … one … day… the weather is… usually … crisp

Love love LOVE colored shirts in the jumpers under coats! I think its so sharp.
CT has great colors, good fabric, and they change every season. Animo also has good colors and so does For Horses! If you’re not wanting to go $$$, Essex does a colored shirt that is awesome and still has the fun collars.
A throw back to “Strawberry” colored show shirt with a monogram collar, and puke green breeches. I was not allowed a bling helmet much to my 16 year old dismay.
I miss the pretty french blues and the light greens and the check patterns with the monogrammed collars. I want that to come back but in more stretchy fabric with some mesh cutouts. Brings me back to my teenage years.
Yes, please! If they can do all kinds of prints for sunshirts, why can’t they do pinstripes and windowpanes on show shirts?
Winston has some pinstripped shirts! The Paris comes in full Pinstripe or you can do accents.
Those are nice! Smartpak, are you reading this thread?
yesss! the picking of the monagrams! good times. old times. Some of us, just for fun would even dye white shirts to get exactly the color we wanted.
Legit miss these days. You look AMAZING!
Everything old is new again. Full chaps are making their comeback, why not colored shirts with monogrammed collars?!?!
I’m even voting for “different” collars on the show shirts. Hey, if they can put a print on the inside of the collar, like many of the shirts have, why can’t that fabric be used on the outside of the collar?
During the pandemic, when everyone was showing in those things that they pulled up over their faces, and then pulled down when in the ring, I kept looking at the photos and thinking, “When did dark chokers come back in style?”
Show clothes are boring these days.
I really, really miss the beautiful colored shirts with complimenting jackets! I have a good year/year and a half until I start lightly showing my baby…maybe by then they will have made a come back. One can only hope!
Start your own trend!!
Exactly! I am so tired of all those navy coats with white shirts, so BORING!
I don’t think I ride nearly well enough to do that…but hopefully next year I won’t have to!
Pretty sure it is only because the nice stretchy technical fabrics only came in white initially!! I miss all the pretty colors and would love to see them come back but in the new fabrics! I only show in the SE and lightweight and breathable is not optional lol.
I think it happened long before the technical fabrics became available, although I agree that breathable/washable made white even more popular and I can’t blame people for liking that. But it seems like navy jacket/tan breeches/white shirt in the eq has been around forever. Sometimes the “reason” I have heard is that the eq is “formal.” What is so formal about jumping over the same sticks of wood that are used in lots of other classes?
I rode in a bright green coat on St. Patrick’s Day and got all kinds of compliments on it. I stood out, too, in a good way - I won a flat class of 19 horses, most whose riders were wearing navy coats.
Wear what you want - it might help the judge remember who you are in a sea of “same.”
The EQ has always been more conservative, I was really thinking of the hunters in terms of the technical fabrics moving people away from the pretty colors and back to just whites. I loved all the pretty colored shirts for the hunter ring!
Ya know, fox hunters wear vests w patterns and complimentary stock ties.
I think we’re all clear that fox hunters and show hunters don’t bear much rational relationship anymore lol. Fox hunters also ride with flasks, now that might add an interesting element to the hunter ring ha ha!
