Coloured Warmblood Stallions

After settling on Utah Van Erpekom when deciding who i’d like to look into breeding my mare to (key words: look into), I found out that they do not ship his semen to the USA. I’ve been on a search for quite some time now to find a stallion of color, specifically pinto, that jumps with nice form and moves at least an 8. Keep in mind I have yet to factor in suitability when it comes to conformation, temperament, etc … But by performance alone, Claim to Fame and Palladio are the only two that i’ve liked following Utah.

Any suggestions that are far from the typical Sempatico and Art Deco suggestions? I do love these two horses, but tend to want something with more scope.

Sanyo? Not much info about him, but maybe you could dig a little deeper if it’s a horse you like.

Not sure if you are into Traks, and not sure if they ship, but here is a newly approved splash stallion…

Art’s Aero is a nice boy who has put some nice foals on the ground

If you’re looking to get away from the age old Semper/Samber and Art Deco lines, look into Chess M.

I was talked out of breeding a mare to him last year, only to recently see a four year old son at inspection (black with 4 knee-highs and plume tail). “Regret” doesn’t even come close. Granted, not the fanciest mover ever, but that 4 year old was a mover for sure, and I suspect a great mare could balance things out.

Also lesser known, but one of my favorites is SOS.

He does have Semper as the sire, but IMHO is a much nicer mover than Chess. You can see his video on YT.

As an aside, we have a 5 year old hunter by Claim to Fame. Easiest, kindest baby EVER. And a 9 mover. I’d do that one again in a heartbeat.

Good luck!

Chess semen is sold out for the USA. I just purchased the last dose(unless she is interested in selling her personal stash). Not sure if anyone is interested in selling theirs. Is coming March of 2016

I know of a super young stallion in the UK who is Samber blood free but I don’t know if they are shipping to the US yet. Scottish Regional Champion last year, and doing very well with a young rider.

I looked into him after someone else suggested it a while back and was impressed until I watched a few of his jumping videos. Doesn’t look like a “bred to jump” kind of coloured WB.

I do love Claim to Fame!

This is our new jumper stallion. His sire is by Darco and from the mother of Utah. He is intelligent, athletic, and sweet.

If you like Pallido, what about his son Palido Blu? He’s getting some nice kids on the ground, and I just watched an inspection video of one of his sons, out of a TB mare - colt was quite butt-high, and despite that, got excellent comments about how well he still moved, and IIRC he was Gold Premium. I also really like the stallion, and he received nice marks at his test for rideability and temperament.

Dude has some JUMP!!! NICE! Are you presenting him to other registries? Who accepts AES here? I have been curious about that

I recently bought a young stud that I am beyond thrilled with. Super temperament and extremely naturally talented approved stallion. He has been in training in Europe but coming over to the states next week. Carthago Z x Darco lines. His sire’s grandmother is also mother to Utah van Erpekom and his dam is full sister to Udarco van Overis (1.50m horse) Fabulous gaits, will start him in the hunter divisions when he comes over as a 6 year old. Will get better pictures when I see him next week. Have a few though, I’ll post.

I believe sBs accepts AES as an outside stallion. I believe they are also erkend with KWPN, so could go register A there.

Gwen is selling her last Chess semen at the Moment !

I have 3 doses of Chess M coming to the US  and 3 of Multicolor II GF

As if right now there are 4 left. If anyone buys it… you might be able to get on my shipment to the USA.

I have a very nice Swedish/Trak mare in foal to Pallido Blu. Lovely mover, nice jump, but what really sold me was the temperament and rideability. Guaranteed color and a good temperament, if it’s a colt it will be an easy sell as an amateur horse. Owner and collecting vet very easy to deal with too.

That is a nice horse from what I can see. He clearly can jump, but it looks like he can move well. Suggestion: get some video clearly showing gaits. I love his canter. What does his trot look like?

Bought a breeding to Pallido Blu. Talked to a ton of people who had foals on the ground. Everything they said was the same across the board: good temperament and athleticism. I wanted brains and colour. I put it on a hot and talented jumper, so I hope to get a a/o high jumper prospect in the works with a colour that draws attention. Fingers crossed for something great for 2018.
