Sorry Limerick, as great as the bacon scene was, I jumped off the Tori bandwagon and quickly ran the other way. She clearly had knowledge, in my opinion is complicit and, oh by the way, she is still riding horses for BP which doesn’t sit well in my book. If the Colvin family had any integrity they would have severed ties. Heritage has plenty of horses for her to ride.
I’m not sure if this link will work, but if you want to keep on top of documents as they are filed in the case, try this:
Then go to “efiled documents” to see the list.
If you want to search the database from scratch, from the link listed on page 1 (copied below), go to the WebCivil Supreme database, search by party, search Colvin as Plaintiff and the case is in New York county. I did not need my NY atty credentials to conduct the search or download docs.

I don’t know what the arrangement is with BP but I would assume she is paying all the bills? If the Colvin’s would have dumped BP and gone to Heritage, would she have been able to have as juicy of a deal?
Thank you so much for posting the transcript, it is eye opening although it shouldn’t be.
I had a lot of mixed feelings coming home from my last horse show about the whole scene. So many beautiful horses and so many who landed in such a heap on the other side you could hear it 3 rings away. Until judging changes, I don’t see how anything can change. I saw many brilliant rounds with good gallops and sharp horses pinned below an admittedly flawless round, but one put in by a horse who looked tired and sore. Horses that I thought it looked scary to jump. I also saw jumpers quickly waving their groom over to change their boots after they saw stewards checking everyone’s boots that day. :sigh:
It’s messy and I think they are all guilty. However, Tori is a minor and is traveling out of state. Brigid is her Mother. I can’t see how legally they can prevent her, as her Mother, from being at the shows.

A) - Tori doesn’t HAVE to go to the shows.
B) - she has a father also.

This is the sad part to me. Why keep the kid in such a toxic environment unless you approved of it or were creating it yourself. Also the date of the USEF hearing is May 20, the flight they were needing to catch was to Devon. I saw the parties together at Devon. I can’t imagine saying what was said in the transcript and standing on the rail with the person the next day at a major show. I can’t imagine the stress Tori felt, yet she came to Devon and rode amazing as also.
And while she is a great rider… Is she really in contention for the “next Olympics” Rio 2016? I don’t follow extremely closely but she wasn’t on my list of possibles.
It appears the court issued the temporary restraining order, which allows Brigid to attend shows at least through September 16th. The matter will be before the court again around the 16th and then the court may or may not issue a permanent injunction which would allow Brigid to attend shows until the case is resolved.
My civil procedure is admittedly a little rusty, so if anyone who spends more time in a courtroom than me wants to step in, please do so.

Sure they can, she is suspended. If they can’t make other arrangements, guess what, Tori doesn’t show. There is not a right to show horses. She doesn’t have to travel out of state, she can stay home. By showing you submit yourself to the rules of the USEF. She can go show in a FEI show or a quarter horse show or a local show.
NY procedure is a bit unique, but yes, this is a TRO ordering USEF to stay the suspension of BC.
But, busylady, it would be a preliminary injunction, not permanent, to stay the suspension further through the resolution of the case.
I would assume that they’ve been campaigned for several years and that was the plan.

I thought Exhibit E was pretty darn entertaining, but now realize I need to block out some time to read the full transcript.[/QUOTE]
The full transcript can best be described as “pure comedy gold”.
I can’t get over the diet comment, sorry
This is a sad commentary on just how far down the toilet the welfare of the horse has fallen in today’s show world. I hope that this will be “straw that breaks the camel’s back” in the horrible way horses are treated simply to get that blue ribbon and the winner’s photo. I hope Betsee Parker gets her share of the punishment also. Nice how she portrays herself as someone who wants to give kids a chance to ride top horses, which she does, but is just as bad as everyone else with what goes into her horses to achieve those “winning rounds”. Like she doesn’t know EXACTLY what drugs those horses get. The whole situation is beyond disgusting. I feel so bad for all those poor horses…
Sadly I doubt anything with change as long as the powers that be at USEF are in charge. Clearly top level judges ie Steve Rivetts are complicit in drugging horses. The whole situation is a travesty - Tori has been manipulated for her talent since age 7, but by 17 she should know better and clearly knew what was going on. Although, I loved the bacon commentary . Hopefully if she moves over to the jumper/FEI ring she can avoid the likes of Devin Ryan and surround herself with better influences since she is clearly an incredibly talented rider. Anyways, there is little opportunity to screw with meds ect in the FEI ring.

I do follow closely and I wouldn’t even have her on the long list. There are many other juniors, or recently aged out, that I think have a much better shot in terms of mileage and horsepower. That being said, I would have said the same thing about Reed in 2012.

Yep. Child rides eleventy million horses a day. She’s probably fitter than 90% of everyone else. And she’s 17. Putting her on a diet? You MUST be joking.
BC has got to be her lawyer’s worst nightmare of a client. That transcript shows a definite tendency to run off at the mouth and say things that damage her own cause.
I feel for Tori. Folks on Diva used to refer to her as a “child slave”, which I always thought unnecessary. Maybe it’s still a little harsh, but it seems like she’s been the unfortunate pawn (along with the horses), shoved around between various trainers, Parker, and her own mother.
I’m another who would love to see Parker’s affidavit. I wonder if she pulled some strings to keep it from becoming public.

Ah, but fitness doesn’t matter; it’s the LOOK. Very important in subjective judging. Even if the horse is the one being judged, the LOOK (total impression) is all important. It’s because of the LOOK that so many horses are prepped the way they are.
