Carhartt?
What about something like the Ariat Fat-Baby? Maybe that’s shorter than you’d like?
Western boots generally come up to mid-calf.
Or the Horseware Ladies Country boot?

I wear Justin boots normally, but they are NOT waterproof (toesies got wet this morning from dew) but I may have to look into that… I am not a western clothes person even tho I wear Wrangler jeans and Justin boots, so I’m picky. I don’t like how far the sole sticks out on some, and others are perfect but for the large white stitching on the sole, so I use a Sharpie and color them
Heyoooo might have a winner with the Horseware boots! Thanks!
Did some checking on the Carhartts, and the calf is also too narrow, so ordered the Horseware short boot in wide. I’ll report back (@Simkie )
Did you ever rule out the tuff riders?

Or the mountain horse?

Sigh, I really liked the look of those Mark Todd’s
I did for calf size only. The Tuffrider might have been ok based on some of the reviews… The Horseware had a wide calf option
Mountain Horse has a mid calf too. Try searching the various brands or check Amazon and eBay. There may be some left over Dublin mid calfs.
Ariat has a mid calf boot - or at least they did a couple of years ago.
The Mountainhorse calf is too small.
I have a pair of Smartpak mid-calf (adjustable with buckles) boots that I bought on closeout for $50 about 3 years ago. They are leather and waterproof; currently my “go to town and do errand boots” but as they age and get beat up will become my winter “barn boots”. Very comfortable like Ariats. Had I known I would like them so much, I would have bought several pair instead of just one pair.
I just went through the Web site and didn’t find those? Link or name?
Would this one work?
Smartpak will let you try and return if it doesn’t seem a good enough fit and wide enough.
Good since these are rather expensive if they don’t work:

Or this one at half that other’s price, but may also be a bit too narrow in the calf:
Ouch! I can’t spend that much money for a pair of boots used for shoveling poop!
Can you get them in USA?
Nope and trust me, I dug deep into the Interwebz.
The Mark Todd’s were for sale on Amazon when this thread started. I nearly ordered but decided I really didn’t NEED them. Not sure if they’re still around now…
eta: still available here:

Or these ones…
OK still searching I guess???
The Horseware Short Country boot was a great option because it came in wide, but apparently not available through the actual Horseware Web site? I located the wide on Bit of Britain, and ordered. It was pending in my bank acct for nearly a week and then poofed, and I’ve since emailed and called and left a message for a call, and radio silence.
I’m going to reach out to Horseware and see why the wide isn’t offered on their Web site. I wonder if they discontinued and BoB hadn’t updated their site, and canceled my order.
@DinkyDonk … where are the Smarpak boots you were talking about?
The Smarpak boots I bought have been discontinued. If you need a wide boot, have you considered buying a men’s boot of some type? You just need to go down a size or 2. I can wear a men’s 8 or 8.5 as a rule. I have “clodhoppers” attached to my ankles…Ariat makes a mid-calf chore boot that’s insulated and waterproof–they run $139 not on sale.
Try the Mark Todds
(They’re on Amazon so therefore returnable? I think?)
Doesn’t say returnable, I checked again. They would be shipping from UK regardless. Haven’t ruled them out, just hoping for a returnable/exchangeable option first!
I have small feet and ankles, but 15’’ calves. They were bigger when I was running 30 miles a week, so I’ve always had to get the wide option. That was what the mid-river was originally for, but they discontinued those when they came out with the Rivers in a wide calf, I just don’t like the tall version. SIGH!!!
