I’ll have to look into that during my semester break.
I’m studying like a mad woman for the GMAT in my spare time for the next month…my brain hurts!
Then there is the Joan Robinson Hill murder. Several books and a TV movie with Farrah Fawcett about that one.
That sounds hard. Good luck!
I believe Wild Ride was about Calumet farm.
Bah, yes! Calumet!!
Spendthrift might take exception to any “downfall” attributed to their farm.
Even not on opiates, I will sometimes interweave something that I was watching on TV right before I went to bed into my dreams.
PSA: My Cousin Vinny is on TV tonight on Bravo at 8:00 PM Eastern.
Apparently if you’re trying to learn about the American legal system from a movie, that is the movie to watch, according to the people on these threads on this topic.
Let’s not forget McClain Ward’s father, Barney.
Thank you 3PonyFarm. Very interesting and food for thought.
Your welcome. i have enjoyed learning more about the legal system and this case has raised some interesting topics. Some of the things have really surprised me such as interactions with the police as mentioned in the videos. I also did not realize how slow the legal process can be. That part has to be so difficult for the victims, the accused and all the family and friends affected too.
And to add a little more to your affects of Ketamine conversation. I was given a “light sedative” when my broken ankle/leg was set in the ER along with Fentanyl. The sedative did NOTHING to me, I literally remember every second of them setting my leg. I suspect this was ketamine that was used as in the future, they always used Versed (Midazolam) which worked better on me. So the affects (or lack thereof) of ketamine can be extremely varied based on the individual and I think it’s impossible to say if this could have been a contributing factor to his memory loss.
Here are two interesting IG posts from LK. I can’t wait for the trial!
By the way, some who helped her with her horses last year said other than Jay-T (MB’s horse she bought) they were nice but nothing special.
I am still thoroughly confused with LK’s notion that “out of nowhere” MB decided to “murder” her to “steal her horses”. [edit] She’s always the innocent one with something she believes others want. [edit]
Why would he want to steal her horses? Clearly the facts are just too boring for words.
No one knows except LK.
I will say, she has been saying this since the beginning, that his motive was to steal her horses.
Since when would a “murderer” have the benefit of the estate of the deceased? Let’s see…murder in broad daylight with obviously no thought out plan for a couple of horses the murderer didn’t need? How would the murderer expect to obtain the horses from the estate?
And all the “BAD, BAD” info about MB that she has kept secret all this time? Right. Bet she has some swamp land to sell too.
I’ll stick to Occam’s Theory.
Especially when apparently all the plotting by the bad actors in the lead up to it were captured in audio formats on items installed by the victim without the property owner’s knowledge. Unlikely he’d be awarded the horses in such an unusual situation, surely?
But what is Occam’s Theory in this case? I agree that a motive of stealing her horses makes no sense, but killing her to get her out of the farmhouse makes no sense, either.
Covering up other crimes sometimes is a motive for murder (for example Robert Durst was convicted of killing his friend allegedly because she knew he murdered his missing wife). But here, too, it’s hard to imagine that Barisone had anything that damning that needed to be covered up. So unless there is a really serious previous crime that is revealed at the trial, that doesn’t make sense either.
Which really doesn’t make sense once you consider the fact that one of her horses was sold to her by MB. That one is apparently the schoolmaster that is allowing her to ride anywhere near upper level.
