She’s up for auction on Thursday
Wow, she looks like a nice mare. Hope she finds a nice place to land.
Wow, she looks like a lovely mare. My old horse was an old jumper and while he wasn’t easy, he was a wonderful ride, once you figured out the controls. I wish I were shopping.
Wonder if anyone here might know something about her and how and/or why she’d end up at Cranbury.
Check your pm’s Ellebeaux
I am interested to hear if anyone has information also.
Heartbreaking. I hope she has a soft landing.
Heartbreaking, but you have to wonder why she ended up at the auction. I attend auctions on a regular basis and you really really need to know what you are doing and be prepared for heartbreak. She is a nice looking mare with a good record, why didn’t someone try to sell her? I imagine she is not going to pass a vet.
Something about her trot seems irregular.
there is also an incredibly well bred holsteiner gelding up for auction there as well. The breeder was made aware.

Yes, that’s what I was wondering. But sometimes they do slip through the cracks. Maybe someone can buy her and turn her out for a year or her breeder will find her or something.

This ^^^ seems like she paid her dues and deserves something good.
Some of the horses have significant reserves it seems.
What is this sale? There are a bunch of nice horses entered… seems like a slaughter auction?
Cranberry Auction has been there for decades. The original owner was aware that he got better prices for some nice horses if the word got out that they were there. The new owners follow suit.
As said before, it is “Caveat emptor” but I 've known of some very nice horses found that way, usually because of a previous owners idiocy.
I looked up the horse’s record: looks like the same gal owned her from 2008 until 2014 and showed her from the Children’s jumpers on up. Her last show of record is from Upperville 2014. Looks like she trained with Kim Prince.
I wonder if the same person still owns her, or if she gave her away to someone she thought she could trust?
Horses that have a legal lien on them also have to be sold via public auction. I’ve also heard of a few because of death or divorce that went through public auctions as well.
So you can see some nice horses go through from time to time.
Quite a few ISHA programs also have to auction unwanted horses. It might be that this mare has someone ready and willing to buy her but must be auctioned for legal reasons.
I was looking at this mare as well. Anyone know any more about her? Can’t figure how she ended up here, assuming soundness or ring sour. Show record shows same owner/rider from 2008 to 2016. Found a bunch of show videos in 2013 where mare is consistently stopping and rider had several falls so I’m thinking that’s why this mare eventually ended up in this sale? Shame to have put in so many good years including WEF and landing at what looks like a pretty shabby auction house. Anyone been to this sale before?

I have been to this auction and know the owners. It is “higher end” as auctions go, better than New Holland, but an auction all the same, it seems with some sketchy business going on from what I’ve seen/heard/seen on social media and know of. Where are the videos of the mare from 2013? I only found one from VT in 2010. I too wondered how a horse like this could end up at an auction. Sad
As for the holsteiner gelding, I know that horse and have seen it go many times as it is from the area. Let’s just say I know why it’s going through the auction, and I’m quite concerned about how it many turn out for both the horse and whomever the buyer ends up being. Shame
