GLS - I think it’s misleading for you to post things about “going through drawers”, “waving whips in the air”, and “threatening gestures” - I know it may be your personal experience but you are leading people to believe that chantershelper DID THOSE THINGS to chanter. Unless you are in contact with Chanter and know things that others do not - you may want to make it clearer that you are not talking about chantershelper because right now it is extremely confusing. (And I don’t think chantershelper has done anything other than be extremely accomodating to a perfect stranger.)

I haven’t read all of the thread, but has Chanter ever come back after the first few post she has done? I know CH has been on and off. Very sad situation for CH and Mr CH. Just goes to show that mom was right when she said don’t talk to strangers.

No, I don;t think Chanter has posted on here again since she was griping about her new accomodations and having to actually work for her own horses’ upkeep.
However she’s apparently been online often contacting someone…CH is wondering if it;s someone on here and is hoping that whoever C is contacting can get in touch with CH and let her know what C wants done now.
According to some other posters on here…C has PMed them at least once stating all sorts of dire things happening to her and that her new accomodations were misrepresented. Those members were also shocked.

Actually, I think it would have something to do with water. Some sort of water issue. Her history is full of water issues…both on this BB and in a few other places on the world wide web…every sort of water issue you can imagine from people shutting it off on her for no apparent reason to people having contaminated water to diatribes about types of water pipes and what quality of water they deliver to asking how long water takes to go through horses to stop them from peeing too much in their stalls overnight.

I have to say that not only what happened with Chanter in Texas has opened my eyes - so has this thread. While most people are just concerned and trying to help others have really shown their ugly side here. Others have PMd we with the same sentiments. They are not posting on this thread because of it. I won’t be posting on this thread again either. Its a very sad situation and beating up on someone who has problems is not helping in any way.

It is not uncommon for a person’s senses to be heightened and/or altered following the accident. It is quite possible that she really is tasting the water differently than the average person walking down the barn aisle. There are foods that I can no longer eat, like celery and bell peppers, because the taste (and smell) is (are) just too strong and make me sick.

You know, I don’t think this is a situation that is going to be solved based on the advice of a bunch of desk jockeys hundreds of miles away. It’s a personal matter between two people, who are the only ones who really know what is going on anyway. And I have a feeling the people who are actually involved don’t particularly enjoy the fact that they’ve become entertainment for others.

Everything on this BB, and life in general, is caveat emptor – if you post a horse on the Giveaways forum, you’d better do the legwork to make sure the person who offers to take it is a good home. If someone posts a plea for help, the people who are actually offering to help need to do their own gut-checks to make sure everything seems kosher in real life, not just on the computer screen. Although even that may not be enough sometimes.

But honestly, the amateur armchair quarterbacking is really neither helpful nor constructive. And the stick-poking is pretty pathetic. While there were some valid concerns raised on these threads, there were also an awful lot of misinformed assumptions and just plain whackjob conspiracy theories. (No, all the players on these threads are not alters of mine cooked up in an elaborate joke, but I’m flattered someone thinks I’m that creative. ) Which is why such determinations are really better left to those interacting in real life, not through pixels.

So really… step away from the keyboards already. If anyone involved needs assistance, I’m sure they know who they can contact off BB.
