So are Tailored Sportsman breeches supposed to be good for more curvy figures? I see them mentioned quite often in reviews.

Co-sign FITS original pull on. Have 3 pairs and love them to bits.

I really like my Ovation Slim Secret. They are a little more high waisted which may help.
I’ve tried the Romfh and didn’t have much luck. The Champion’s were the best of those though as far as fit for me.

I heard on another thread that Ovations are good. Thanks! Have a pair in the mail now.

Kupo!

Not yet. Thanks for the suggestion.

That I’m not sure about. I found these and loved them and stopped looking lol. What I think helps them fit us curvier ladies is that they have a true-to-size waistband and the fabric is dense AND stretchy. The silicone seat helps as is stretches more than other seat fabrics. The waistband is also fairly wide - maybe two inches? It has two buttons.

For what it’s worth, I currently have one pair of Horze breeches, not sure which model, and it has a wide waistband but weirdly sags in the front (as opposed to most which gap in the back). I’ve tried other Hoze breeches and generally they are just too long or I’ve always found some reason to return them.

I do have some Ovations I like though and was going to include them in my original recommendation but… Taylored used to be their curvier cut but I think they’re discontinued. And the one I like now is the aquaX which just showed 6" on the size chart.

Awesome. So what I am hearing is size down at the waist? The silicone doesn’t fall off and is not too sticky? I like Horze styling. They have some quirky designs and fun colors. The silicone was holding me back.

Yeah, in contrast with Pipers I don’t have enough space in the crotch. Leads to things falling down or not being able to mount from the ground. Really frustrating.

Ahhhh ok. Thanks for the clarification on the Ovations.

You won’t need to size down in the waist unless you get the high waisted breeches. The ones I have hit me right at my natural waist and they are great. I should have clarified - the waistband is broad, not wide. It’s substantial, which I like. No pinching. One of my daily breeches by Horze are two years old - the silicone is NOT falling off. There is a little pilling in the fabric in the seat area, but that’s it. I wash them every week, line dry, and they get worn at least three times a week, riding 1-3 horses per day. The silicone is very well integrated into the fabric.

I was apprehensive about the silicone, but I’m loving it now. It doesn’t chap me like clarino or leather did, so much more breathable, and doesn’t get all saggy in the butt after a day around the barn.

Awesome. Just ordered two pairs. Thank you!

For me, I am curvy and I have a long torso, which makes anything low or mid-rise a huge problem! I LOVE the Horze high waisted breeches. The tights or actual breeches. Good luck!

Question - the only silicone breeches I tried squeaked horribly when posting. Drove both me & my mare nuts. Any noise problems with these?

Update: Hadley tights and the Hadley Full Seat Breeches.

The two pairs of tights, both same size, are sized slightly differently. One pair felt super loose, and had loose ankles also, so they are going back. The other was great.

Going to have to size up in the breeches. But they then the waist might be too big and reviews say sizing consistency is an issue so might just pass. The Hadley breeches ARE more curvy than pipers for sure since they do come in at the waist. But, still not quite there with room in the hips/butt/thighs. They are elegant. I like the four pockets.

Horze and Ovation next.

Update:

Thanks for the suggestion of the HORZE Danielas. They are a winner. I love the cotton blend fabric. I will buy a few more pairs. Prefer to buy from Riding Warehouse, but they are all out. I tried the Tara’s also, but the fabric was much too thin. They look like tights, and they are going back. Very cute styling though.

Tried the Hadleys. I forgot I had updated last post. Decided they actually were the right size, just wrong fit. Or maybe I lost some weight. Anything can happen during shelter in place. They are close but not as curvy as the Horze. They are very nice looking and elegant. I actually did not like the fabric.

The Hadley ā€œwinterā€ tights are great, though. Nice high waist that no rolling all day. Nice to have a pair of fullseat tights. They are thin enough to wear in the summer on a hot Californian day.

Tried Ovation Celebrity Slim also. They were a miss. They ARE curvier, but they are wide instead of front and back on me.

Gave Kerrits another chance, but they really do not work.

How is the fabric on the Horze Grand Prix? I am wary of synthetics, but these seem to be really well reviewed.

I’ve only had them about 3 months and so far I’ve been quite pleased. It just feels like a softer type of leather/suede seat.

No squeaking! At least not with these. My LeMieux breeches do not squeak either.
