I know its early in the year but I am very interested in this stallion. Has anyone seen or heard of any of his offspring yet?
They will probably start hitting the ground very soon. I am looking forward to seeing them, also. He is absolutely to die for in person. At the 70-day test in Schliekau, he was without question the stand-out of the group.

My ātrainerā (lol) when there, had a colt 2 weeks ago. I may be able to film him. Plan is for him to go to the auction in April. Anyway, he was very pleased with him. (he breeds mostly jumpers)
Sincerely Linda
Not to hijack this thread but has he been used a lot yet?
At least in Oldenburg he seemed to be used a lot. A friend has one coming out of her Painters Row xx - Argentinus mare.
I am thinking about him for my dutch mare⦠not this year but next⦠maybe an ET⦠but would have to see what he puts on the ground first. However type wise and pedigree wise he is perfect for her.
Anyone know anything about his temperment?
I was really impressed with his temperament at the 4 days I saw him at the testing.
I like his type, not to big and cutie! not the biggest mover, but SUPER jumper!! (which is what he was bred for anyway!)
It is my understanding that he was used a lot in Germany. This will be the first year his semen is available in the US.
Thank you for all of the replies and I hope more news will come as the foals start arriving:)
I had heard that there are over 200 foals coming in 2009. I have no idea if that is an accurate number or not.
Any news on Diarado foals yet?
Ha! thats so funny I just googled him this morning to see if there was any news yet!
Couldnāt find anything
I spoke to a guy who claims to have had the second Diarado foal born and he said he was very pleased. Colt foal, not to big and very cute (as was just to be expected).
Rumors says that foals are a bit small.
Diarado will have about 1000 foals this year in different registries, Paul S. will have hundredsā¦
Only 80 will be Holsteiner.
Because of the huge number of foals, you can expect some great performers out of his first crop.
Diarado is a great advertisement to his sire; Diamant de Semilly.
Thanks everyone. I was hoping to see some foal pics by now. Interesting that some are said to be small. I know that I donāt want a 17 hand and above horse. I guess what is small and what is large depends on the individuals perception? It is going to be very interesting to see how his offspring develop. If there are 1000 foals expected this year we will definitely get and idea of what type of mare is best to breed to him. :D:D
Usually when word is coming from breeders that the foals are āsmallā - itās an indication that breeders will have to be aware of this and send good sized mares to this stallion to avoid vorrs.
I heard that the foals are small too. Small as in a small over all package. Not light boned per se - just a smaller horse all together.
Iād read this as meaning - the mares brought to him need to be of good size themselves. (16.2h range).
A good option for some larger mares out there.
I heard the the quality of the foals is very good.
I heard the same thing , that the foals are small but beautiful. Like mini versions of Diarado.
I love him but I think my mare may be too small for him !
denise, I filmed a short bit of the Diarado/Contendro colt. I can e-mail it to you if interested.
Linda
Linda - I would love to see the footage. One mare I am considering for him is my Contender mare. The breeding would be close to this foal with the Contendro Dam. I have heard exciting things about your stallions first foals.:winkgrin: Congratulations :D:D
I would also be interested in seeing the footage if you would be willing to send it.
Thanks!
Denise (and to others who e-mailed me) I am very sorry, I filmed my jeans instead of colt outsideā¦o
Here is what little I haveā¦http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ZUD8X-dMz0
Sorry, not very good!!
And thank you Denise!! we are extremely pleased with the foals so far!
