Did anyone in Canton/Alpharetta GA lose an EMU?

I was thinking of the emu just yesterday. I wonder how life is treating it.

This is so funny, especially those pictures. I love the way the horses are lined up together to watch the EMU.

Sheesh Spot, thanks for the uplifting info!

You know LMH, if this sucker is still around this long, you must be feeling a LITTLE flattered…he’s clearly taken a liking to you!

What if you had an emu party and everyone got together in the field and ate emu burgers and wore emu feather caps and played “pin the tail on the emu” and had emu pinatas? That might send a subtle message to this stinkin birdbrain

LMH:
By the way…have you named him?
How about calling him DB… for damn bird?
Suggestions from anyone else?

May all your chooks (chickens) turn into emus and kick your dunny (outhouse/privvy) down!

Your are now qualified to use this old Australian curse.

That’s hysterical. I was driving up to Ball Ground and there is a farm that has lots of different types of animals out together. No big deal, and then… I saw a few emus. Get this- with emu babies. Now I know that beauty is in the eye of the beholder- but darn it are emu babies ugly. They look like walking feather dusters. I laughed the rest of the way up the road.

LMH, for some reason I am thinking that I saw an emu on my pony drives around that neighborhood… but as you know, this was a few years ago, and on a good day I killed all the brain cells ever associated with the Farm That Shall Go Nameless…

But about the only place I went was that neighborhood just a 1/2 mile north of your driveway on the right side of the road (it comes out on union hill next to your road)… But maybe plastering some flyers along that neighborhood might speed up your freedom from feathers (or speeding TBs) as it were…

Is the emu shacked up in the fancy digs to your right or in the empty field to your left? Does it look like a western pleasure emu? huh? huh? Do you think it will like the covered lunging ring or is more of an “Arena Emu”?

Well the latest news-a rescue actually caught the second EMU-so one is safe and sound.

They are trying to contact the rescue to see if they will come get Emusement tomorrow.

There is supposed to be an Emu meeting in the morning to see what can be done.

My neighbor drove by the farm and it is chained with signs out front-I guess marking it as closed or whatever. From what she could tell there is only 1 emu left there-hopefully there are others that were riding as the story is there were 6 total…one there, one rescued, one next door still leaves 3 unaccounted for.

She did not see any horses or other animals but she just looked from the street.

Pretty exciting week I guess!

Perhaps Emunity is on the way?

Funny you give them an hour or two to think about things (aka Time Out) and leave them without hay and suddenly everyone is a gentleman on the way back out! </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

A friend of mine has a small property-- house, two pastures, small arena. When the neighbors brought in emus and pigs, she thought she’d never be able to use her arena again. It took a while, and you still don’t go wandering on a loose rein down at that end of the arena, but they’re all fine with it now.

Try calling The zoo people in Dahlonega. Chestatee Wild Life Preserve - they do stuff like that. Number is 706-864-9411 fax 706-867-7044 Good luck - maybe a throw net would work! </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

YES! I have been trying to remember this place-will call ASAP!!!

Rainbow Ranch! How ironic! That’s what I was going to suggest YOU change the name of YOUR ranch to after reading about your gay geldings!!!
</div></BLOCKQUOTE>

snicker snort—even I didn’t catch that when I heard the name!!!

I was wondering what emus eat, and so was going to do a search on Google.

Thought you might all find this highly amusing.

I read this entire thread, unlike i usually do. And I was very upset to get to the last page. I havn’t laughed so hard in my life. I know it must be annoying. I have people over in the other room, who came running in here when I was laughing so hard. Thanks for the days Emusing entertainment.

Perhaps YOU would care to come have the talk with Milo-OR even better bring Miss Madison over and maybe that will put things back in order. </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

Perhaps we need to explain the state of the law in GA to Milo And I can’t bring Madison over - she’d decide that Hugo-the-yearling CERTAINLY belonged to her and needed to come home with us since he’s just too cute and then what would we do She’s still convinced she deserves a pony

<BLOCKQUOTE class=“ip-ubbcode-quote”><div class=“ip-ubbcode-quote-title”>quote:</div><div class=“ip-ubbcode-quote-content”>Guess what I saw!!! AN EMU WITH THE HORSES!!! I couldn’t believe my eyes! </div></BLOCKQUOTE>You all better be careful. You know how things come in threes? So who’s next ?

OH-OH…Yet another Emu sighting here…looking at birthday cards today and Hallmark’s got at least two out…so now you can add…emusprint…

I believe LMH said that big bird is being fed by the neighbor… Perhaps said neighbor should lay out a LONG breadcrumb trail…

butbutbut SPOT I thought the nursing geldings would buy us a few more days!!!

goodness WHAT can I talk about that will get us to page 20 and thread of the year 2005…

barefoot?
parelli?
draw reins?

Just TELL me and I will oblige!

Any luck with the zoo people?!?!? Or are your neighbors now the proud new owners of an emu???

My EMU thread is BACK! I have been missing this thread.

You know Cindeye…all of my geldings “drop” when brushed so hygiene has never been an issue. IS this not the way it is done on all farms?
