Disappointed with eventing performance
And I did prove it in the RULES of the governing body…it is run as a 4*. Not a fluff journistic piece…which probably has a damn typo.

ETA: And if you read that piece that you posted…no where does it quote those in the know saying that it is a 3*. It says some of the jumps were made smaller and easier because the Terrain adds such difficulty. As many event courses designers have stated…you can build a 3’ fence that is unjumpable because of the terrain. So just because a fence or a question is that of a 2* or 3* level (without adding in the terrain)…when you add in the terrain, it INCREASES the difficulty.

The course is a run under the rules as a 4*. A course designer, uses the terrain, and time on the course to increase and decrese the difficulty. NOTHING in that article indicates that the course was designed to be a CCI3* and only in one place does the author (NOT Sue) say it is run as a 3* and I’m saying that author got it wrong…based on the RULES.
“Emerging countries” …"Olympic event set at CCIO3* " If you cant see this you must be smoking some good wacky weed.

The rules do not apply here to the OG. You people have ZERO knowledge.

page 25, 7.3

7.3 MINIMUM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS (MERS) FOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
CH-CIC 1* 1x CIC 1* + 1x CNC 1*
CH 1* 1x CCI 1*
CH 2* 1x CCI 2*
CH 3* 1x CCI 3*
CH 4*
(WEG / OG)

1x CCI 4*
OR
1x CCI 3* + 1x CIC 3*

That is saying that WEG and OG (Olympic Games) are CH4s which is a Championship 4. That is from the FEI rulebook. It is actually written as a table that didn’t copy/paste over well.

The 3* options exist for the “emerging countries”.

no…we do. You are mis reading it.

For London it was run as a 4*.

You are wrong and I’m not going to let you continue to spread mis-information.

Put your glasses on and read and quit acting like a know it all. “OG” , “OG” “OG” “OG” “OG” !

What ever…I quoted the FEI rules for the OG for London. It says run as a 4* level of difficulty. It is a shorter distance for the Olympics than most 4*…but still a 4* level of difficulty. I haven’t seen you quote any thing other than one article.

You quoted the FEI rules without understanding them. You don’t know what you are talking about.

here are the clues again…"London OLYMPICS set as CCIO3* " “Emerging countries” " FEI OG "

Do you NOT understand that there are not enough 4* courses for emerging countries to prepare on ? Please get a clue and quit mis-leading people. You and Viney are the absolute worst for spouting off mis-information. Please stop it.

Who freaking cares about the Olympic course, it is history. Bayhawk is just diverting the argument to the star number because he started this thread insinuating that US eventers lost because they suck and they are cheap and they don’t ride Holsteiners.

And I do not why he loves to slam thoroughbreds, they put his favorite registry on the map, and they need more tb blood, and the people in charge of the registry are currently looking for it, Viney has posted an article from them about it recently.
THIS^^^^^^^^^^^

Anyone else in favor of putting this thread out of its misery?

AGREED. Bayhawk is just plain nasty and it is serving no purpose anymore. Hitting unsubscribe…

I am not nasty. I’m the one that has been told to “shut up” on this thread…that’s nasty !

I exposed you people for not knowing what you are talking about. If that’s nasty then so be it.

You would rather run off and pout instead of realizing that you don’t know what you don’t know instead of trying to learn something.

To all the folks out there who were confused…the 2012 London Olympics was in fact a CCIO3* 3 day event , not a 4* .

Well, I’ve just emailed the FEI to ask. I’m willing to accept whatever the FEI says the XC course difficulty was. Are you, Bayhawk?

I already know what it is as you should know I’ve already been there Viney. And when they tell you it is in fact a CCIO3* , you should then apologize to me and everyone else.

If I had to hazzard a guess it would be because it takes one to know one. I’m not a girl.

I am aware of that

I think this pretty well sums it up Holly!

What’s funny is that earlier today Bayhawk stomped off in a huff… but he is still.here.
and now has sunk to the level of what, grade 3? “takes one to know one”???

really??

I’m waiting for “I know you are but what am I” to come next.

And as for calling most of the people on this bb, or on this thread ‘stupid’ and ignorant’ ‘know nothings’ and unable to read or comprehend… among many other insults…?

Just plain rude.

Bayhawk, you are the one incapable of understanding the argument that many of us are making, and have made repeatedly.

But no one has been so rude as to call you stupid or ignorant.

See you at Burghley!

I never called anyone stupid.

My use of the word ignorant (lacking knowledge or comprehension of the thing specified - Merriam Webster Dictionary) is just that and is specifically relevant to the topic at hand. If you choose to see my use of the word as rude…so be it.

I didn’t stomp off anywhere. That was your perception Fred.

Plain as day. “The competition will be conducted according to a special Olympic format of a 4 star level of difficulty.”
