Discuss the NBC WEG coverage here

The only thing I love more than WEG on tv… the commercials! It’s like superbowl sunday for me! I especially love that Meydan commercial. What’s your favorite?

I love the Ariat commercials.

When are they going to show dressage? Or did I miss it? I mean REAL dressage, not 3 day dressage:D

If I remember correctly dressage is at the end of next week. You can find the schedule if you google NBC world equestrian games.

My stinking affiliate, WAVY 10 in Hampton Roads, VA is NOT showing it!

Can you believe my local NBC affiliate, WAVY 10, in Hampton Roads, VA is showing children’s programs INSTEAD of WEG?! Their ratings have already been falling. Their stupid programming decisions just might explain that. This morning instead of News, Today, and Meet the Press, they showed GOLF, THEN decide to opt for kids’ programs instead of WEG! I am so done with them! Their Facebook page is loaded with complaints.

I’m watching on NBC today (and loving it!) but I noticed that most of the other WEG stuff is going to be on “Insight 565” (acc. to http://www.kentucky.com/2010/09/23/1447438/tv-schedule-set-for-weg.html) - what channel is that??? I looked through my whole guide (Charter, in Wisconsin) and I couldn’t find it. I’m going to be so PO’d if the rest of the events are shown on some obscure channel that very few people get!! Can anyone help??

Am watching the stadium jumping on Bold here in Canada because it’s live, however I prefer the NBC coverage because the picture is crystal clear in HD and I love The Woff’s commentary…to bad they are delayed. We are getting down to the wire now!!!

I’m just thrilled to see any horse stuff on tv! But the coverage of the XC today was pretty great- not as cool as being there, of course, but for a limited tv broadcast, I think they did great

And I love the commercials! They’re making me as happy as the action

(Except for those high fashion ‘do you love me?’ Ones- those are freaky, and the model has terrifying elbows.
Agree 110%. It’s been a lot of fun to have on in the background while I’m studying – and a great reminder that if I actually make it thru vet school, I might get to do cool stuff like be a vet at the WEGs!

What is the second part of this going to be? It shows this eventing part will be over at 4 and then more WEG from 4-6?
Anyone else figure this out? I’m planning my day around whether Pt. 2 is worth staying at home or not

Haha me too! I’m also in vet school and have it on in the background while I am studying!

SOO Jealous of you folks actually getting to see it. NBC here in Texas is showing ^& cartoons. I am getting 0 WEG coverage despite it showing WEG on the guide all the way until 6pm tonight.
Yeah, I’m pretty irritated… My guide on the TV still shows WEG coverage for 5 hours - yet when I put it on, it’s cartoons! Not even good cartoons. Ugh. The “info” for the cartoons insists the WEG coverage is on. How annoying. At least my Saints are playing…

Nice coverage in CA. Looks like they’re planning to show recaps of reining, endurance, and dressage. Will be nice to see the freestyles everyone’s talking about.

This song cracks me up and makes me think of Jersey Shore

The golf thing was nationwide, not just your affiliate. It’s live from the UK. If golf was on Saturday morning as well, I’d guess that the children’s programming was to make up for missing that, because it counts as a requirement for the FCC. I used to work for an NBC affiliate (and still work in the industry) and it’s a pain in the butt when they shift stuff around like that. But definitely email your local affiliate and let them know that you wished they’d show it.

I’m loving it! I’ve not watched much reining before, but it looks like fun  It’s good to see that something other than racing is getting some national air.

I watched the Show Jumping on FEItv, and now I’m watching NBC. They showed some reining, gave recaps of endurance and the GP and GP Special, and now are showing some of the Freestyle rides. Just finished with Mistral Hojris, and I’m thinking they will show Ravel and Totilas. Not sure they have time for more than that with all the commercial breaks. More dressage than I’ve ever seen on any network TV! (Crossing fingers I’m right).
Still, glad I got the FEItv subscription.

It looks like we got the eventing coverage but no regular dressage :frowning:

Akrgirl

Must be the time zone difference. Are they going to show 5 hours? If so, the dressage will be in the last hour.

Here in the Dallas area, my Dish is doing five hours of coverages. Set the
DVR last night–good thing, missed the start thanks to a senior movement.
Apparently, the guide had it in two parts, so missed part of the second part
being recorded when we left to give some dumped kittens a place to land.

Off to thank the local NBC for showing so much of it!

Unfortunately, we were also subjected to cartoons immediately after eventing :frowning:

LOVED IT

I thought it was GREAT. I was disappointed at first as it wasn’t live show jumping at 1:00 but they actually showed some great XC then switched to live show jumping for the last rides in the next hour then they showed some reining and stuff and then I got to watch dressage free style rides! Woo hoo. Saw five straight hours of WEG, the commercials were not boring, the commentators were good. Superb job for me watching on a Sunday afternoon
