@can’t re- the last one was my only colt and I kept him but gelded early. Praying he turns out as well as her other foals… only time will tell. Fingers crossed he will be my older older ao horse â¤ï¸.
30 day scan five days ago shows everything looking good. I keep chanting blanket or snowcap filly to her. I hope she listens.
Vet flushed Mom’s Image this morning, used vinegar and infused with something else (blanking on name) to treat the yeast. She had no fluid on scan, but first flush was cloudy. Vet is optimistic she could still catch this cycle, but I’m not holding my breath.

I’ve been remiss at updating this thread, but Arielle arrived from AZ a bit over three weeks ago! Poor girl has had a very rough transition to her new life. She hasn’t been on pasture or truly turned out/in a herd since she was 8 months old (she’s 13 years old now). It took her about a week to spend more than 20 minutes of a time outside the run-in shed and another week to spend more time grazing than just standing around staring at the world. There are deer here! And, horror of horrors, WILD TURKEYS! Lol. Then the poor girl had a horrible allergic reaction (to the Defy the Fly legbands/collar I put on her to try to give her some relief from the flies - oops!) a week ago - hives all over her body and weepy sores around all four fetlocks and on her muzzle. Since she’s still in her first trimester, both the vet and I are being super cautious about medications. Luckily, the hives resolved after a couple of baths with MicroTek. Her legs are no longer getting worse, but it’s going to take a long time to get them healed, especially because she keeps chewing/rubbing on them. Sigh. She’s SUCH a good girl, though - even though it has to hurt to have me messing with those legs, the worst thing she does is pick them up off the ground pitifully during her treatments. She is NOT a good girl in the herd - lol - but we’re working on that.
She’s much tinier than I was led to believe - I haven’t sticked her yet, but I’m guessing 13.2. She’s in foal to a QH stallion now (~95 days) and will be bred for a purebred Arab foal (filly, please!) after that, but I’m also having visions of some adorable pony hunter foals out of her. What do y’all think? I know the pictures aren’t great, but they’re what i have for now.

How are the rest of the girls doing?
COTH disclaimer:
I’m kidding about the pony hunter thing. Half Arabs aren’t exactly in hot demand in that market, I realize. But I do think she’d make some cute ones!
Well, we’re past the 14-day wait time, but I thought I’d finally make the announcement. My ASB mare, Holly is in foal. She is out of a King of Highpoint mare and I’ve bred her to Sultan’s Great Day.

I know, the image is from when she had her bone chip surgery, but I love how her butt looks in this picture.”‹
