Thanks for all of your feedback! It looks like I will give TOTW a try. The only positive about Wellness is that I was getting it shipped to me in smartpaks, which is so convenient.

Little man gets 3/4 c mix of EVO, Orijen, and TOTW (all in fish variety)
the 2 family dogs are on California Natural
I have one allergy dog needs fish based protein. and i have a poop eater. so i try to feed them all the same stuff. I am currently trying out Orijen 6 Fish, b/x it has NO Canola oil and No Grain. I think the canola oil was starting to affect my dogs tummies, b/c their stools had become softer over time. i’m still not sure if the Orijen will be ideal, b/c it is so high in protein, but with no canola oil and no grain, it might be a better option for my dogs. i have to order it online and it’s already expensive, but it’s a very good quality food. the same company also makes Acana, slightly cheaper and less protein. I may switch over if the Orijen is ok, just b/c my dogs don’t work so they don’t really need 38% protein.
Puppy is on blue buffalo food and Blue Buffalo brand treats with the occasional wellness brand treat thrown in to change up the flavors. She eats less since it’s high protein, and her coat is amazingly soft!
Dynamite kibble, I gave them a treat of the meal (which is mixed with water so that it is like wet food) but they started getting too chunky. They are looking and feeling great at 9 years old, they play like puppies and always people comment that they look young. They had been on Evo, when I moved to the PNW I could not find Evo easily. Dynamite is less but even so, I save on vet bills as my dogs never have to go.
I use Solid Gold brand dog food for my puppy’s sensitive stomachs. I have a mini aussie and alaskan klee kai (aka mini husky) and they love it. one was eating grass and the other’s coat wasn’t quite as shiny as i wanted on nature’s choice and wellness so I went up in price and switched to the Solid Gold. Both of them have healthy coats, great digestion, and have stopped eating grass.
Old dogs get Pro Plan Senior, Shredded Blend. Younger dogs get Pro Plan Shredded Blend Adult. Little bitty allergic dog gets Blue Buffalo Wilderness Formula. Kitties get Pro Plan Urinary Tract formula. I’ve fed Pro Plan for over 20 years and my dogs have all done well on it. Plus I have enough dogs and cats to belong to their professional feeders program. I love getting the vet checks.
I have 2 weims with sensitive stomachs. I was feeding Canadae until they changed the formula, then I switched to Purina One Chicken and Rice - all 5 dogs are doing great on it. I had them on the lamb and rice but I can’t find it anymore so I had to switch.
My terrier mix is on the Merrick Before Grain dry food. He likes it, keeps in good weight and energy. Oh, and too cute for his own good 
Now my GSD puppy that the ex-boyfriend ended up keeping (blah!), she was on Spot’s Stew. LOVED IT. I tried her on EVERY grain-free expensive food out there (she had terrible allergies and was hard to keep weight on with her high energy level), but she hardly touched them. Bought the Spot’s Stew one day and BAM, I couldn’t believe how excited she was to eat it. That with an Omega oil skin supplement and she was good as gold. Never had itches again. Beautiful coat too. She also loved apples and carrots for treats. Dang I miss that dog.

I’ve got by dog on Blue Buffalo Chicken and Brown Rice. She was on eukanuba before that (never really loved it) and within a week of switching, the brownish red tear marks near her eyes disappeared. She also gets Wellness canned food with her dry (just a spoonful or 2–1 can lasts about 5-6 days) for extra flavor. She loves the turkey and sweet potato flavor.
ProSeries.
It’s a Canadian brand for sled dogs and not widely available, but it is AMAZING food, very complete. We have two collieX who are very difficult to keep weight on (because of their high activity level).
We’ve tried all sorts of different types of food, but only ProSeries keeps them at a healthy weight, with out making them hyper and they have lovely shiny coats and are SUPER healthy dogs. We have them on the maintenance food (they also have a senior and I think a holistic or something?) but we’ll bump them up to the super-charge formula for the summer to keep their energy up all day :).
They’ve been on the food for more then 3 years now, and I like it so much I drive an hour round trip to pick it up from the only place in our area that has it!
I’m so surprised none of you feed the LiveSmart dog food from SmartPak! It is a fabulous line of dog food, and it is recommended by the Whole Dog Journal and quite reasonable in price. I have all four of my lab/labx on it and they are absolutely gorgeous and so healthy!
My dog is on Solid Gold “Barking at the Moon”. It’s a salmon based food for high energy high performance dogs, and he thrives on it. Since he’s an only dog, he is free fed and he keeps himself at a perfect weight and I get a million complements on how shiny his coat is.
I love it and even though it costs a small fortune, I won’t stop feeding it to him. I think it’s $70 for a 33lb bag and that lasts me about 3 months.
Another TOTW here, usually the prairie formula. I like it as much as the Barking at the Moon but it’s way less expensive here. Just bought a bag today $37 for the 30# bag.
High protien feeds are more expensive for the bag but they really last longer. I fed raw food for a while, it really wasn’t any more expensive and the dogs loved it but I just don’t have the freezer space any more.
TOTW for the last 2 years. The Aussie with allergies does well on the blue bag, but the hyperactive Border collie maintains her weight better on the yellow bag. I alternate. I have my cat on the green bag, but she doesn’t like it as much as the cheapie grocery store food. Too bad for her. 
She’ll have to suffer with the TOTW.
TOTW the Pacific Stream formula-- the salmon one. I have fed TOTW for over a year after having continuous issues with my mix breed mutt. We have had skin issues forever, until we switched. The pack (there are 5) used to eat the High Prairie Formula, but we switched to the salmon after I read that there was more Omega 3 in it. No more skin issues. I get a 30lb bag for $35 and one lasts me about 3 weeks. Each big dog gets 1 cup 2x daily, and the Corgi gets 1/2 cup 2x daily, and everybody looks amazing!!!
The cats HATED the TOTW cat food, they are happier on Purina Cat Chow Indoor formula ( go figure) I have 1 cat who vomits every time he eats dry cat food unless it’s itty bitty pieces, and TOTW was too big for him. The cats (3) all split 1 can of Friskies wet food 2xdaily and get crunchies free choice.

I fed ProPlan shredded for years. Switched about 6m ago to TOTW. 2 of the Aussies nibble throughout the day, the 3rd devours his food in 3mins and spends the rest of the day trying to eat from the other 2 while they protect their dish! It’s insanity.
I did notice the one Aussie’s skin problems have not come back since making the switch. She would have terrible skin problems and such.
My JRT mix and my GSD pup both eat TSC’s 4Health Lamb and Rice. They’re doing super on it and since I live at TSC, I figured it would be easy to get The JRT tends to thin but he looks really good on this and the GSD pup’s black coat is soft and really shiny. No complaints and it’s priced decently too!
dogs need protein and fat, and they don’t need carbohydrates. Read your labels- at least 30% protein, no glutens or “potato protein” in the first few ingredients. Lots of choices these days. I personally feed raw, but it’s expensive so I do understand the desire to just buy dry pellets and pretend it’s food.
