Dog Show time!

Thanks, S1969. I was totally confused, and you would think that would have been noticed long before this.

An ownership conflict, so you were right. I think it would be more fair for the second dog to move up, and then there would still be seven BIS competing, and apparently two dogs were excused from the sporting ring because conflicts were discovered.

Holy flock…

GSMD Top Hat "n Tails Matilda in Red.
BO"s Silly Tillie

And they just pulled 2 from the sporting group for the same reason.

Well, they explained it better the second time around. I agree with you, they should move up the second place winner.

You would think that by the time a dog makes it to Westminster its owner would have taken care of any problems with a relationship to a judge. I can believe it at lower ranked shows, as the woman said, but not at this level.

so I heard the springer had the same thing so is it excused!?!?! the only reason I am watching is for the springer!

Like that the Brittany has a UDX at the end of his name.

and that means?

Nope, the Clumber and the Wesh.
Seems both came from the Judges breed lines.

Yes he’s amazing! And he made the cut in a really nice group.

The Springer showed so not sure why people thought there was a conflict?

They would never let the group 2 dog to move up. It jist doesn’t work that way. And having a conflict with the BIS judge wouldn’t keep most people from entering. The odds of being one of 7 in BIS are very low. Especially if you’re not the #1 show dog. As i understand it, they were shocked to win the group.

So Bean will retire after today? I see him all the time as he is from the Northeast. Hes beem showing for quite a while but had a great year.

Oh wrong breed. Ok that makes sense.

UDX is utility dog excellent. Its a very respectable obedience title. His owner does obedience with him; breeder/co-owner had him in the ring.

My mechanic showed his dog in the Whippets. He didn’t place but it was fun to see him in such a big show.

Beans is 7yo already.

I fell in love with Stump the year he won. So good to see Bean back this year!

I’ve been seeing terriers’ docked tails being left longer and longer as the years go by. And admiring the Boxer just now, I wonder, will Americans EVER stop docking and cropping? If there ever was a ā€œneedā€ for it, there certainly isn’t nowadays.

I’m confused. If the Clumber and Welsh spaniels were excused because they have a relationship to/with the judge (he breeds those breeds), why didn’t they excuse the Sussex? The judge is with Clussex kennels (as announced on air), they were the breeder of Stump (and have him on their website in the Sussex section), so wouldn’t it be a conflict to judge Stump’s grandson?

No, he did not breed Beans

The boxer is my choice. Something about her expression in the group class just said she’s here to win. Reminded me of the BIS judge’s comment when the German Shepherd, Covy-Tucker Hills Manhattan won: ā€œHe was just asking to win!ā€ That dog had a great expression too.
