YES! :D
I’m hopeful that smiley face means that she didn’t comply and more seizures have taken place. crossingfingers

Ok Thanks guys…
I talked to a friend that lives out in Cali. and was told.
Hope it’s not true.

My heart goes out to all the horses involved. This story is just sickening to me. and wish ALL the animals a safe new beginning…

I’ll take Romantic Star - great horse!

I think it was posted by Daventry that it was not RS that was seized.

No she didn’t, she just said the stallion’s name is not being made public. Not the same thing.

Yes, that is correct in what I said. Nowhere was it stated that the stallion removed had a body score of 1 either. If everybody can just be patient for just a little bit longer.

OK everybody who is waiting on pins and needles. Here is something to pass the time. More auction items will be added tomorrow!

WOW. I’ve never seen such an impressive roster of stallion services donated and made available for auction so quickly!

Am I wrong or did Fred mention a donation from A Fine Romance a couple of pages back?

Good luck deciding between all that eye candy!

There have been several people working on the auction page and getting it up and running. Literally people have been working around the clock. Donations can be made to auction@leg-up.org. I haven’t been here much because I’m one of the idiots that has been working on getting this thing up and running. Jos is grumpy due to sleep deprivation, as well. So if there are errors, PLEASE be kind and just forward an email to that address. Additionally, if we didn’t get an email to that address - auction@leg-up.org , the item will not have been listed. And, we are continually adding to the list. And there are several people that receive the emails to that address in order to be able to list things quickly and efficiently!

I will say, it has been humbling, heartwarming and just plain amazing how many people have stepped forward to help! What a phenomenal group of people we have helping us! And please! Remember these generous people when making your breeding decisions in the future! Thanks everyone for helping!

Wow! That’s an amazing lineup of stallions (and other merchandise) donated. I hope publications and equine web sites will promote this worthy auction to get the word out!

Me too! Please feel free to forward it to anyone or post it on Facebook, Twitter it, whatever it takes! Everyone is working hard to make it happen, but we need help getting the word out there. And thanks for listening to my “rant” JWB :D. Without your ear, I’m not sure this would have happened!

that is an amazing list of stallions! wow!

Well, if you want to believe the Facebook rumors (posted in a public group) it is Romantic Star and he allegedly had a body condition score of 1. Seems like legit news, b/c there is also contact info. for Marin County Humane Society, asking anyone who was owed a breeding to Romantic Star in 2013 to please contact them.
May need help with reading comprehension, but this looks like you are saying that HHR was wrong about it being RS. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Does that mean Paypal payments to this email adress are a possible way to donate money ?

Alexandra, this page has a donation link:

No. We are in the process of setting up a PayPal account and that will have a button on the charity website. That address is dedicated entirely to receiving donations of things to be auctioned off. It goes to several different people so that we can stay on top of things and get them posted on the sites. There is currently a googlecheckout button on the page that people can donate through.

Thanks for asking, though :). It helps get the word out there that there “are” other options on ways to donate funds!

I just wanted to say what a great bunch of stallion owners. Stepping up to the plate for burned MO’s and the auction. Incredible.

Ise, the first thing you learn in Europe is that papers, or passport as that’s what we have, IS NOT, determination of ownership. I know a horse here that runs on a replacement passport given by the registry. The original is still held by a sales company in England. 90k is owed on the horse. The registry said it had nothing to do with the auction company. But as is law, the passport must be with the horse at all times wherever it goes. Therefore a passport is not an ownership document.

Under general instructions in my Irish passport, it says “this document remains the property of the issuing authority. In no case whatsoever can it be accepted as a deed of ownership”.

In the TB registry. This passport is issued to ensure that a horse can be identified at all times and as such must accompany the horse. The passport is not a deed of ownership. It is the property of the issuing authority and can be recalled at any time.

From the KWPN: This passport is not a title-deed. For competitive purposes, the present owner of the horse must be registered as such. Change of ownership shall be reported to the organisation that issued the passport.

Yes, people like to think they’re title deeds, but they are not in reality.

Terri

Should add, unless competing, very few people actually do register the horse in their names. Well you must for breeding too. It’s not a smart thing to do. When you buy one get a bill of sale and then register with the proper authorities. The passports just identify the horse you bought. Much easier over here as all horses must be identifiable. If they aren’t, don’t touch them.

Terri

Terry a bit different in Germany as we have passport (to stay with horse) and Certificate of ownership.

(Which in the end is also in quite a few cases not the final proof that the person holding it in hands is owner for courts …)
