Doing business with JILL BURNELL? BEWARE.

Does anyone happen to have the VGL case number (UC Davis) for Redwine? If so, could you possibly send it to me in a PM? TIA

Mine walked off the trailer shaking, with a slack lower lip, and a few hematomas. Jill was nice enough to hit the mare with a 4 or 5 injections (of God knows what) in front of my shipper, all the while she yelled and screamed at the shipper to try to get him off the property. Classy.
She was also sent home barefoot with horrible looking feet, with her original shoes handed to me separately. I had paid for bar shoes and pads for months. We had to x-ray her immediately because my farrier was concerned that she had foundered. Total mess.[/QUOTE]

Yep…my mare had several hematomas as well…and a dull eyes. She was drowsy and slack jawed. I have no idea what she drugged with. Thankfully she has no lasting Trailering problems. The shippers I used treated her like a queen. I took pics of her hooves the day she arrived. They were very chipped up and obviously hadn’t been worked on in a LONG time. Im glad I documented everything. I was also paying for regular farrier visits, ultrasounds, etc. (That I’m sure never happened since she REFUSED to give me any actual vet bills!) I ended up paying about $500 in completely bogus bills to Jill to get my mare home. I know she didn’t actually do any of the stuff I paid for.

I am not a breeder, but even I knew that JB was trouble back in 2009 or so.

One big giveaway was John French going public on FB because he had not been paid for $5000 worth of boarding and training.

Then Peter Pletcher refused to do business with her after she stiffed him.

And, who was it who came on COTH a year or 2 ago, trying to get her mare back? I believe she finally did, but it took her months of broken promises and outright lies.

It always bugged me that she advertised Redwine as a sire of winning hunters when his oldest crop was only 1 or 2. It made me dislike her just for that misrepresentation. I hate liars.

I do not know how old his first crop is now, but are the babies performing as well over fences as they have done in the HB divisions?

I do! The information is public on the Canadian Livestock Records website. His DNA case number is ISH1120 (UC Davis). http://www.clrc.ca/cgi-bin/pedigree.cgi?_breedcode=HU&_countrycode=CAN&_association=86&_regnumberprefix=S&_regnumber=15501&_regnumbersuffix=

it’s too bad all this hideous info was not made public years ago… but i am glad that the whole thing is falling apart now… and hopefully the horses end up in safe places and not some of the rinky dink “rescue” places we have around here.

Daventry - you are AWESOME!!! Thanks a bunch!

 I did make this information public 3 years ago. Unfortunately, very few listened and so many defended her. At the time, Jill was her own biggest defender as she used aliases to make a case for herself or to sabotage those she considered a threat. When she is posting as 6 (or even more) different “professionals” or “experts” and also has a fan club, it is really easy to lead the unsuspecting public down the wrong path.

interesting who is representing Jill…

yeah, it sux that is usually takes many folks being ripped off etc for the larger community as a whole to act.

it will be interesting to see how this plays out now that Jill has an attorney involved. I wonder if folks who actually owns some of those mares will get their animals back?

my suggestion to those that are involved : legal up because this is going to get ugly… :frowning:

Is it just me, or do there seem to be large contradictions or inaccuracies/inconsistencies (not sure which right now) in that story? 30 horses? Fences and shelters being built, the lawyer seemingly being there when Romantic was injured, vet being called and the MHS just happening by at the right moment?

Im not faulting COTH, I’m just baffled by her still succeeding in bs’ing everyone (as it appears) even while being investigated for neglect and cruelty.

And the fight begins…

I think anyone with this bad of a reputation who has avoided any serious consequences for this long will be very very hard to bring down. Sounds to me like she is a master of evasion and she probably knows the ins and outs of the legal system better than a lawyer.

Me? I can’t even negotiate my way LEGALLY out of a traffic ticket. It boggles my mind that she has been aboe to get away with all of this for so long. :frowning:

How in the heck can she afford an attorney??? I agree that some of the details in the report are…strange??

How long will this attorney, Ms. Weems, stay on the case? Doesn’t Jill have a history of stiffing her lawyers?

PLEASE EVERYONE if you have first hand dealings with Jill Burnell PLEASE contact the Marin County authorities.

This article is disturbing. Somehow Jill can afford an attorney (even though she has open judgments against her – one filed by the last attorney she stiffed!) and Ms. Weems (her attorney) is trying to get the 4 removed horses back and stop Marin County from seizing more!

Jill Burnell has to be STOPPED. No MORE FOAL MILL!!!

(also Ms. Weems refers to “stallion Owner’s” who else owns stallions on the property?

Loves how she attempts to dismiss the lack of veterinary care of the injured stallion with “were deciding whether to take one of the stallions to a clinic for additional treatment,”.

If he was so badly injured the day prior that clinic care was needed why was she still “deciding” about it 24hrs later. Such a bullshit artist.

how did she manage to convince a lawyer to take her case… otryher lawyers have not been paid and you would assume a lawyer would research a potential client’s history.
I really hope this is the nail in her coffin, but… “they are improving the property”. …Wanting the animals back… oh please no! She can’t afford any of this…

Everyone should share that article on their Facebook page.

Her Attorney.

She lists this groom position on her linked in. Any one know her?

Groom Adamo Eventing and Chocolate Horse Farms
2001 – 2012 (11 years)

From the article:

“We will be filing a request for writ of mandamus [Jan. 8] in court, essentially demanding the return of the horses and for an injunction prohibiting the humane society from further harassing the Burnells,” said Weems.
