Doing business with JILL BURNELL? BEWARE.
Here is the discussion on Pop Tart. I looked for it earlier but did not find it before I had to log off. I have to say, the GRAY Fox Farms threads have made interesting reading over the years…

http://www.horsegroomingsupplies.com/horse-forums/new-broodmare-366745.html
Priceless quotes from the above thread:

“grayfox has been on this forum for a while now and been in the breeding business for years. never once have i ever heard anything negative about her or her operation. just the opposite, i constantly hear/read great things about her and her breeding operation.”

“I highly doubt that greyfox would buy a horse that could pass on a condition to use as a broodmare.”

because we all know that grayfox knows what the heck she is doing and wouldn’t have gotten to where she is today if she didn’t

“questioning the average horse owner like most of the members on this forum is very different from questioning a well known and respected breeder”

“unlike many people on this forum i suspect Jill has a life and devotes more of her time to the actual care of her horses and her business than she does to this forum.”

AND, even after it is proven that JB lied through her teeth about the OCD surgery, people then get behind her and explain why it is ok to breed a horse who has had OCD surgery.

Does anyone have a membership on that board? might be good to update that old thread with a link to this one as a gift from the COTH meanies.

Just like she lies through her teeth about Redwine’s EVA status and how he is going to clear it from his system on his own. Or how mare owners don’t need to vaccinate their mares prior to breeding to him because the semen will “vaccinate” them.

Or all the other things she lies about…

Also noticed that the “warning” entries on Gray Fox Farm FB page are gone. Can anyone confirm that??

I too read that entire thread on “TOB” and was amazed how they jumped all over anyone who dared to “question the great GFF!!” But just like the Wizzard of Oz, once you pull back the curtain, the truth is revealled…

We own a vBulletin forum (which is what COTH is). Not 100% sure, but I think that when counting views to a thread, vBulletin recognizes return viewers and will not register them in the viewer count for some period of time (maybe 5 days, something like that). So the 205,000 views to this thread are roughly 205, 000 distinct individuals who have seen this thread. That, in and of itself, is amazing. Reading sketchers post above, in the context of what appears to be true, makes me cringe. Unless all those supportive comments were simply alters, it seems that the public perception of GFF did not even remotely match reality. In many ways it is refreshing that so many people here got involved to say, “Enough already! We will not be silent any more about what is going on.” I think that took a lot of courage… especially early on when the tide seemed to be so against them. Kudos to all of you. At the very least, roughly 200,000 people are aware of what is going on.

She deletes them when she signs in. She deletes any comments she does not like, including the ones from clients asking her to call them back because they cannot reach her. I would recommend re-posting the link to this thread everytime it disappears and continue to report her pages as spam/scams to facebook

I just wanted to chime in in support of people coming forward and making these posts. If it were not for the “Pop Tart” thread I probably would have ended up with a baby from her. I have a beautiful Redwine filly that I ended up buying from a breeder here on COTH. When I read that thread I knew immediately something was up with her program. This was 2010 and I was going to buy the “All the Above” foal inutero. When I talked to Jill, I asked her what she thought about the different crosses and what she felt the mares were going to produce, etc. I have talked to many dog and horse breeders who are excited to talk about their what they are breeding and give an incredible amount of information. She was completely laxidasical in her answers. That was my second flag. So in short, I am so glad I didn’t deal with her directly. I know my filly came from a great place with a breeder that takes fantastic care of her horses. I wasn’t worried at all from the time she hit the ground. Keep it up. I hope she gets what she deserves.

I’m amazed that Jill Burnell hasnt blocked everyone from posting on her facebook page Gray Fox Farm. How does she keep up?

I do, but it’d be a meaningless gesture, as the Mods delete any links to other boards. That’s verboten over there.

It’s against the forum rules to post links from other forums, but there is a thread on Jill Burnell there too.

http://www.horsegroomingsupplies.com/horse-forums/gray-fox-farm-jill-burnell-481679.html

I think there are many members of both forums here and a few others horse forums as well. As far as I know this thread has been mentioned or directly linked to all of them.

2 years ago MOST people thought the world of this breeding program. Coth was no different. I bet the majority of her business has come from these two boards alone.

What ever happened to Rated R, the fifth stallion she purchased? How many horses on the website have never been owned by GFF or stepped foot on her farm? How many people have seen the dams of the foals they purchased. Claiming foals are ET out of mares she has never owned?

Does anyone here know the farms that purchased the inutero foals? Has anyone tried to contact them? If I owned Poptart and saw her foals advertised for sale on someone elses site - I would have jumped on it a long time ago. How can her picture still be there 2 years later?

Can someone PM me if you know what happened? thanks.

Yes, someone has posted an update on that Pop Tart thread directing them here, and to the COTH post where it says the mare never went to GFF.

Also as far as reading the alarming comments on that thread defending GFF, in all fairness those were written 2 years ago, before the enlightenment.

Someone started another thread on HGS alerting those posters to this thread.

I saw online that Sheila A’s 4 year old mare is in foal to Redwine for a 2013 foal…she’s leased out to one of Jill’s good friends. Perhaps Jill picks and chooses who she stays in contact with? Another mare at the same farm is in foal to him as well. Is Redwine both fresh and frozen?

First, I think it is absolutely true that Jill picks and chooses who she wants to keep in contact with, do doubt about that. If you want to send her money she will contact you. If you have the ability to drive to her house you likely will get her to follow through on the transaction.

The mare you are talking about is Spring Fling, aka Flirt. I bought her in utero from Glenhill Farm in 2007. She is the filly I tried to breed to Romantic Star last year. Unfortunately the person who used to foal out my mares for me decided that she is no longer interested in foaling out client mares after she had issues with a foal last year (not one of mine, and nothing of her doing, but involved many trips to a vet clinic) so I cannot breed anything until I find someone who I trust to foal out my mares. That is why this mare went back to her breeder on a breeding lease. She was under saddle for about 4 months and is simply not yet ready for that so she is going to have a foal first and will resume her under saddle career when she comes home next year.

I do not know if Redwine is offered via frozen. This mare conceived with fresh. I can also tell you that Redwine was not the first choice for her because I had concerns about the EVA issue but she did not get pregnant with frozen from a different stallion and after speaking with a couple of people knowledgeable about EVA I agreed to Redwine. I also know from personal experience that everything at Glenhill is top notch. I have been there several times since I bought this mare in utero 5 years ago and I can assure you, everything is and always has been very clean and sanitary and the horses all receive premium care.

Also noticed on her profile on TOB that the last time she was active was on 8/27 so she’s definitely reading and probably trying to do damage control where she can!!

Ohhh! You cursed brat! Look what you’ve done! I’m melting! Melting! Oh, what a world! What a world! Who would have thought a good little girl like you could destroy my beautiful wickedness! Ohhh! Look out! Look out! I’m going! Ohhhh – Ohhhhhhhhhh!

posted this thread on her page. doubt it will last long but I have no problem continuing to repost it.

Way to go!

Awesome, I hope you get a nice foal. I didn’t mean anything in regards to Glenhill, just meant that since they are friends that maybe it’s easier for her to get semen. That’s why I wondered if maybe he did frozen too.

Her page is public, so just don’t log onto facebook under your name and you can still pull it up and follow along.

It’s still there!!

My mistake!! All the posts are still there including the “stolen filly” thread!! They’re all on the GFF FB page. No other “comments” either!
