Ah, yes, [edit]… the same one who contacted me via PM back in 2010 to vouch for Jill and Redwine, Jill’s quality of care (gag), and to bash Apiro, who I was also considering at the time. Lovely that I still have the PM’s. She seems to be acting very innocent on the HGS forum as it turns out.
My gut says it would be Stacey as Roy Parker…from what I heard she hasn’t had a job in years and her only life is the chat boards all day and night…

Does anyone actually KNOW that [edit] was planning on giving the mare to Jill, or is that speculation? While the mare was on the GFF site, we can probably agree that Jill is not the most accurate about things. It could even have been that the plan was simply to breed to a GFF stallion.
Careful guys. It is interesting and hopefully helpful to note the factual information, but not to lose the thread focus and have it derail from being an important info gathering site with important goals. While many have no doubt speculated as to alters and other such things, it is best to keep those thoughts to yourself or a PM., imo. Carry on!
It would not be the first mare that Jill advertises as hers… if you go back somewhere earlier in the thread, there was another instance or two of mares claimed to be at GFF who never left their owners!

That’s directly from a contact at the eventing barn that still has the mare and wants nothing to do with GFF. They are eventers, so they’d never breed to one of GFF’s stallions which are hunters.

They may not have, but [edit] was supposed to get the mare, right? Who says she didn’t talk to Jill about a possibility of breeding her?
I feel that there is a lot of speculation and opinion there.
I heard the mare was on the site from when the seller had been contacted by Jill and that the info regarding [edit] was boloney.

The person whose name has since been removed told me that she had a falling out with Jill because Jill wanted her to lease a mare in her name because the mare owner would not deal with Jill. She also told me that Jill has been telling people my filly was damaged permanently at birth from the CPR and could not have a performance career which needless to say came as news to me. She told me I was free to post the above if I kept her name out of it which I have. Take it all for what it is worth.

So I am tired of reading and folks not having any current proof. I am an event breeder. I don’t know who the mare that was being referenced is, but it sounds alot like my mare. I was GIVEN a mare named Emerald Kitty by someone who was trying to ride her and couldn’t get it done.Registration papers handed to me. Gal couldn’t sell her as a riding horse.
Stacey then contacted me about breeding to the mare at some point after I got an Aberjack foal from her. I contacted Genivieve,which is where she was when brought down from Canada,(Gen gave her to the lady who gave her to me), and asked what the story was with Stacey, since she hadn’t actually shown up to even see the mare that is “so special” after two months.Stacey had Checkmate semen sent here,mare didnt’ conceive again. I was told to be direct and ask for payment on marecare and breeding fees up front, and that Gen had never had a problem with Stacey. After I phoned Genavieve, Jill Burnell sent me an email asking for the mare…the mare had been posted on her website long before I aquired her,as belonging to GFF…I was reading this thread when the email from Jill arrived and I deleted it. The mare has hunter babies on the ground. Jumping ability is highly inheritable so that is a good thing for the mare. She was a nervous wreck when she arrived, weaving, not letting her feet be handled, not wanting to load in a trailer,etc. The mare did not conceive, has been treated for an infection, caslicked, treated for colic,wormed, vaccinated etc since her arrival. She has not left my property. She has never been the property of Jill or Stacey, but that doesn’t stop Jill from putting her on her website,subsquently removed, nor does it stop Stacey from saying that “a check is in the mail”…I said I would lease her the mare, but the mare stays here till foaling…I, personally, have not been done wrong by either Jill, or Stacey, but this mare??? She was put through the wringer.
Jill had no way of knowing who I am, or how to get ahold of me, unless either Stacey, or Genivieve gave that information to her.There were others who also sent inquiries about the mare to me…They are all friends of each other on FB and I for one, don’t intend doing business with any of them, and said as much on my FB page. I actually said “birds of a feather” about the group of people who supposedly want this mare to breed some more. They are all friends with each other on FB and not one of them has actually paid any money or done any BUSINESS, like signing a lease agreement or sales contract…its all a bunch of hot air and speculation.

Thanks for the clarification. I had heard you’d euthanized her. I’m glad to hear she is doing well and safe.

yup, thats what i said…
after I got hate mail from her previous owner about “giving her back to those a*(&**hole hunter breeders” and found out about the Jill/Stacey/Gen circle of trouble, I said that I had her euthanized so that people got that it wasnt any of their business if they didn’t actually own the horse. The horse is fine, she is being taken care of, and she doens’t deserve to be passed from bad situation to bad situation. It doesn’t matter if she is bred for hunters, or eventers, or a mule…she is a broodmare, she was dumped once already and since her brain is fried, if she is no longer fertile, that is ultimately her fate. I don’t think it is fair to just keep passing teenage mares, that haven’t concieved in a few years, that keep having issues, to the next poor unsupecting fool who then spends another few thousands on trying “one more time” The economy of feeding a barren mare for 16 months and racking up a couple thousand in vet expenses in California…well, I don’t know anybody that has that much money. Thats how people end up in court, foreclosed on, owing vets and feed stores and shippers and breed associations…see where this is headed???

She, like many of us, have been trying to stay far away from this hot mess. I only know of her from contacting her about the mare once I aquired her, and then again, to find out about passing the mare to S.F…She has done nothing wrong in any of this, she was just trying to see the mare land in a good place when she gave her away. So, I apologize for involving her in my discussion about my own experience with mares that aren’t actually on GFF property, nor are they owned by SF…now back to the regularly scheduled intent, of letting folks know 'buyer beware".

Once upon a time in this thread someone with the initials JB pointed out that they were NOT Jill Burnell.
My initials are also SF and Im not the one referred to in this thread. I am a breeder in Nor Cal too, the initials thing is how I met Flipped Her Halo originally …pointing out the same thing.
Back to our regularly scheduled programming
Not only can there be confusion with who is who if you use initials, it doesn’t help with the search engines either.
