Some news for all of those interested: just heard Slaughter was beaten up at a horse show & banned from Showpark! Lol, looks like things are starting to turn around for him and it appears he has messed with the wrong people this time, rather, people who aren’t afraid to bring it to his doorstep. Amazing… I think that’s what they call KARMA Slaughter!
(p.s. I don’t condone or commend physical violence but these are special circumstances; Slaughter is someone who has been (and probably still is) violent and abusive towards innocent animals - insert karma).
I think “culpability” means “blameworthy”… [post 103], not “responsible,” as the post would imply??

I received an email from Don Slaughter this morning requesting I remove my blog posts. I said please send me proof that you have resolved the judgment against you with the previous owner of my horse and then I will consider your request. He replied back to me “Since you have no intention of behaving ethically, honestly, and professionally, I have no choice than to demand that you remove all remarks from any blog within 10 days of the date of this correspondence.”
One would think the ethically, honest, and professional thing to do would be to pay the judgment against him regarding the sale of my horse along with the many other judgments mentioned on this blog and reconcile his USEF fees. I am sure the list goes on… Its time for Mr. Slaughter to put on his “Big Boy Pants” and take responsibility for the mess HE has created. There is no way possible that all the people on this blog have conspired or set out to get him like he is claiming. Hopefully he will stop being the victim and finally take responsibility for his business practices.

I can’t believe how much he owes you! I thought Jumper_SoCal and I were in the worst shape with 2 missing horses and $10k+ between us… sorry to hear of your loss! I’m floored you actually received pennies. I had two attorneys on my case, trying to collect on my judgement (drop in the bucket compared to yours) and still nothing to this day. I am nearing the 10 year mark since I was awarded the judgement all the while he is still active in the industry, albeit less so, but still… how can he even go on any longer?! I just don’t get it.
Has anyone heard that Don is opening a new facility in Wellington??? How is this man still in business?? What’s wrong with people
OMG so glad I did some research on his guy before I approached him for training. So if this is not the SJ guy to train with in the Moorpark area, then who is? Is there anyone here you guys can recommend? I’m an eventer…, fearless over big solid XC fences but terrified of show jumps so I need to focus on my weakest phase. Find a good straight showjumper trainer (prefer not a HJ) that can help build a riders confidence.
Any suggestions form those in the know?

I think they mean a trainer that just does jumpers, not one that does both hunters and jumpers.
