So looks like you may have sealed the deal
I hope you can find him a home
best bet may be Equine Express to transport the horse since they are based in north Texas (Pilot Point) they may be able to work a deal to add the horse to load going your way, It is about 70 miles from Bowie to Pilot Point
So you’re gonna buy him to rehome him somewhere safe?
I second EE. They’ve shipped for me and others multiple times and are kind people. They will, however, tend to lose good hay shipped with your horse.
I’d love to see a picture or video!
Boarding can be cheap in TX, it depends on what you are looking for. Are you going to immediately “flip” him or are you going to put time into him?
Equine Express is the best. But I’m not clear on where you’re needing a place for him? Here in TX for 30 days? Somewhere else? Does he have a health certificate?
I’m about 6 hours SE from Bowie (maybe 5-1/2) and might have space. Is he a TB? Just off the track? What’s his story?
Oh crap. I just bought a horse.
what have i done…and yay!!!
Where are you located/where will he ultimately live? My Bowie horse is out of his 30 days in the next week or so, but he’s staying with a college friend down there. Having said that, I have a pretty good network and can probably find you a quarantine set-up down there if you need it.
I am working with Gail from TIER and she apparently has somewhere he can go for quarantine.
If that does not pan out, I may have to ask you for help.
Ultimately, he will have to be transported to CA near Salinas.
Yay! Congrats, @shiloh, I know you really wanted him.
Of course, when he’s through quarantine and everything, we want pictures!
It has not quite sunk in yet.
But now I am thinking - oh crap - where is the nearest feed store? Brushes, halter, lead rope, food - shoes? Blankets? I haven’t had a horse since 2012.
Of course pictures!!!
I guess y’all can say either Congrats or Oh you poor deluded woman. Either is appropriate. LOL
I don’t know who Gail is or what TIER is, but if you need Texas help, give me a shout. Honestly, don’t worry about a lot of the fancy stuff—I don’t think my horse has seen a brush, blankets, or even a real halter at this point. All they need now is good groceries and lots of love, I promise.
Congrats! As the person who started the Bowie thread, I feel responsible:). So happy that he will have a great home and hope he turns out to be a wonderful horse for you!
Hey, your thread has resulted in at least two horses being saved at this point, so you should be very proud.
I have 3 horses and like 30 blankets. If you need something, let me know - I probably have it! Would just need to know his size, then I could tell you for sure.
And congratulations on your new horse! I don’t know anyone in TX who can board for 30 days, but hopefully the COTH network can get it figured out.
Wait. Did you change the title of the thread? What happened?
oh no, do NOT like the updated title!!
Oh no! What happened?
