No, he did not have a pretty head (as you can see in the picture.) But he was a great jumper, and almost always placed in, or won, the hack. Also, his body was pretty well made, so if the judge could overlook the head, he got a low ribbon in the Model as well.

I doubt if he was a small TB as he stood only 13.2, amazing by today’s standards where if you’re not “right up to size” you’re nothing.

By the time I got to All Around, Terry had moved on to horses so I never got to see her ride Hot Shot. Susie showed him quite a bit, and did well, though of course not as well as Terry. She was a phenominal rider.
