Oh KS, that’s for amateurs - Dow Jones.

I thought that looked like Marlenie!
WHERE ARE YOU?

Just read my last post. Waht a dope!
What more would you like on Tergonwel.

My stupidity comes from going to a show, having NO grooms and my rider was sick with the flu. A day in Hell for me.

One more picture on the subject of Appointments. Who can name the show where this was taken? It was on Long Island, known for its outside course and you could take your horse swimming without leaving the grounds.

(sorry about the picture quality. It’s old.)

care to tell us if anyone is right yet…

Behind every good woman lies a trail of men

YD, but I was pretty much out of the loop by '84 - newly married (BIG mistake), working for a vet, just helping out at C&J’s from time to time.

So, I defer to all of you experts…

Laurie

Name three Grand Prix jumpers who had names that began with C, that won Grand Prix at the age of five(!), in the early eighties, late seventies(?). Peter had this one morning as a trivia question, I was the only one to get it correct…

Yes, 1979. Please see Emmet for cruise info.

Any others??

No, it isn’t Lucie again. The identity of that first pony is a tough one. All four behind her were much better known (each had multiple national rankings.) By the way this picture only shows the front of the line, after the cut. The class started with 25-30 entries.

hint: the first pony in line was a purebred Connemara, and like Lucie’s pony Flair, was based at Fairfield.

MAD, someone with better eyes than me would have to answer that question, though it seemed like Artie Hawkins judged Ox Ridge just about every year back then, so it might well be.

Could you please post the correct answers before asking 20 more!?! I keep checking back for answers and I only find more guesses and questions. (Like what horse wrecked with Raymond Burr and ended his career?) (That was a bit before my time.)[hear dry sarcasm]

I also think that all you oldtimers have some great stories, I just wish you didn’t all talk at once and when you do, maybe you should put your teeth back in and try to stay focused. [hear affectionate teasing]

And y’all wonder why your great grandchildren are discussing about putting you in homes when they think you can’t hear them! SHEESH! [hear an empty threat just to keep you on your toes]

Not sure about this but I’ll try: Kenny Wheeler-Bernie Trauig-Pro’s. Bonnie (I can’t remember her last name, Blake maybe) Caroline Clark Jr’s

ps: I think he started at Bucky Reynolds as a 3 year old and Genie Grigsby had him. I’m not sure if he was ever shown with them.

Icey Paws- Have no idea
The Roofer- Katie, Caroline Clark-?
Boston Taxi- Bert
Viscount- Buddy
Felton- Buddy, won the invitational on him
Signal Pt.- Jamie Mann
Linky- Tim Grubb
Rio- George M.
Victor- Joan S.

How did I do?

Home babysitting a sick dog and have way too much time on my hands!

I can’t believe anyone would remember that little horse except JB himself.
Does anyone know the name of the first horse that Jane Clark had that Leslie showed? Yellowdog, you may not play, too easy for you. It was a wonderful horse and the start of one of the most enduring owner/rider combos ever.

Sandsablaze (sp.)?

What was the name of the horse James Hulick won the Finals on, who was the previous owner and, for bonus points, what was the sire of that horse?

“New one” you say?!

Two top pony rider sisters in the late '70’s whose mother trained them, from Georgia. Name the sisters, their mother, and the two top ponies they showed to national honors. For extra credit, name which sister went on to show with G. Morris and her jr. horse.

Was originally Sally Lord, and her horse’s name was Evening Mail.
