I thought Conrad’s bad fall was at Tampa, and the horse was Abdullah.
Any more guesses?

Je ne suis pas- comment dit-on “deaf” en francais?
I believe Joe’s son Dick is still at Kentucky Stables near White Plains. My mother and I stopped in to visit Uncle Joe there in the spring of '97, less than a year before he passed away. At that time, Uncle Joe would still spend a lot of time in a chair in front of the barn, watching the activity in the ring.
At one time, a friend of his was trying to organize his story and memories into a book, but unfortunately that project wasn’t ever completed. That would have been the ultimate horseman’s guide.
A clue, a clue…
Not Alice nor Alison- closer to the other end of the alphabet, and a professional’s child (surprise, surprise).
Darn, Nutmeg, you are right and I can’t even win when I cheat.

Anybody?

Kathy Gifford was winning in the junior jumpers in about 1978, 79, and maybe 80. 1979 or 1980 was probably her last year as a junior, although she might have shown in the A/O in Florida in 1980…

SPEED HORSES –
Name the mare that Leslie used as a speed horse. She was wicked fast, but had NO breaks — at Ocala one year, Leslie had to circle the ring about 5 times after finishing the course because she could not get the mare to stop (or even slow down…)

The very first speed horse that Leslie had was a mare named Casablanca. The Mckinney’s owned her.
I don’t remember ever bringing her to Fla. though. Of course, it was a long time ago, so maybe… She was Leslie’s speed horse at her first world cup final in Baltimore. What year was it Laurie? Conrad won with Balbuco.
