"DOUBLE JEOPARDY!" - Old Horse Show Trivia

Drawing a blank on the Castle Creek…clearly you aren’t talking about Phyllis’s “new” young Castle Creek…Castle Creek, Castle Hill, Castle Magic…hmmm…RJ would be too obvious right? LOL

Yep, snow and snow and snow. WEF calls.

Very Good!
Now for the million dollar bonus, who found the horses for the junior rider, what was the rider’s name and what was the name or stable of the person in St Louis?

Dublin, you should know this one. The three grooms who started here and went east…

Dub, also emailed you. Not too smart here.

Balalika’s jumper rider, year pleeeeease??? (groveling)

<<The Nielsens had Escadrille, but I think they got her through Timmy. I think he had her before that. She was retired and had several foals at Sunnyfield, one of them Sandy showed with limited success.>>

Abby, I know it wasn’t a question, but would that one be “Annie”? She was so pretty and stayed at our farm for a few months and Alice helped Sandy with her.

AH, but who was Eventing - come on, you are an old ponyclubber, wtywmn, you should know.

(Wasn’t Pat Smythe in 1960, however?)

Remember the show, somehow I don’t remember the tents leaving. Although I do remember them falling out of position at Lake Placid. There was also a tent and flood incident at Chagrin, circa 1969.

Back to the jumper of yore. Miss K-K-K-Kate on the beautiful chestnut Untouchable?

Speaking of indoors, does anyone remember the “Summer Place” tack room?

Here’s one fer ya. Whose retirement ceremony was the direct cause of very few riders making it to what show on time to do the second year hack?

How about Pine Hill? Of course there’s Saddle River and Wild Acres… one of the best ever shows in NE was The Derby (I miss that one…)

If I have to explain, you wouldn’t understand…

Didn’t he ride the mare Cameo at the Garden in the finals? I know he won a jumper class with her
while he was there in the eq classes.

I remember his first day in the US. What a character! If I can remember… I’ll post a photo of one of his first trips around a US jumper ring!

OK. You brainiacs. You’re gonna suffer now…(hee hee)

Ahh you beat me to it Indy! For once I knew the answer! But to make myself feel better, I will post my own question:

Name the two Canadians who have won the AHSA Medal finals, including their horses’ names and year.

Aleesha

Nope…I’ll think of it, but probably at 3 a.m…Tony D’Ambrosio?

with your Count Tuscan knowledge (well, I mean the rest of it too).
And Alex, I thought that Kim Axford was one of the last to show Count Tuscan in the A/A around 1983-1984.
Finally, the Novicks had Doc O’Day at the end of 1983 and through 1984 and I thought that they got him from someone in Canada, but I am not sure where he went after them. He would have been rather old by that time.
