So…who else is bleary-eyed? What an amazing five hours of TV!! (well, laptop but still)
Lucinda Green
well I slept in till quarter of 6 today so I came in just as they took an hour break., but I got to see Sabine’s ride. All of the last group looked spectacular.
Some amazing stuff there so proud of team gb but team usa really deserved that silver tests and horses that gave me shivers so beautiful.
Very cool awards ceremony. Loved the exit with all those horses sort of passaging on automatic.
for east coast add one hour to your current time then flip the clock
5 PM plus 1 hour = 6 then flip to am ( the next day)
does anyone know where the final score roster is located?
Here’s a decent score sheet.
Every judge gave Sabine over 80%. Just wow - well done!
thanks dressage traks!
Here’s a score sheet that gives scores for each of the riders in order of team placing: https://results.equi-score.de/event/2021/15496/de/resultlist/3?fbclid=IwAR2WI-5WzxdgWeqJJgVarAfYTSTmmKsXOlSsa0drOvrt3kmi1UEUpQwEGdQ
And one in order of the rider’s placing with scores broken down by movement: https://olympics.com/tokyo-2020/olympic-games/resOG2020-/pdf/OG2020-/EQU/OG2020-_EQU_C77(D)_EQUODRESTEAM----------GPSP000100--.pdf
A friend’s horse was doing the young horse classes at the same time as Sabine and Sanceo, probably when both horses were five. They were also very good then, and it’s fun to think back to watching him as a young horse.
I’m watching on regular cable, and was really ticked when I turned the NBC Sports channel on at noon, and it was still handball or something.
I’m so happy to see some of the dressage team final at least. I’m so happy for the results.
Indeed! Apparently 16h even, but also compact. Next to a horse like Mopsie at 18.2h he looks like a pony.
Beautiful riding. It’s so gratifying to see how soft the international dressage riders have become compared to years past.
What a lovely variety of horses to watch. I found Total Us’s extravagant front action a little distracting compared to the other horses.
Lucinda Green is an absolute treat as a commentator. That was fun.
Can someone point me to the order of go for tomorrow’s freestyle? (Yes, I have searched but I seem to keep going down rabbit holes.)
I feel so bad for Simone Biles-mental health. She’s been through a lot training since she was a little kid, and, of course, the Larry Nassar abuse …
It doesn’t look like it’s up yet, but it will be here under the “Official Reports” tab: https://olympics.com/tokyo-2020/olympic-games/en/results/equestrian/results-dressage-individual-gpfr-000100-.htm
They won’t do the order of go until the morning (there, which would be sometime tonight in the US).
Managed to stay off the social media and news sites and streamed the replay while I worked. Who would have thought dressage could induce nail-biting? Even before it started, I felt proud of the US for being in the running and to have pulled off a Silver Medal performance is amazing. It was so, so close!
Great broadcast quality in general, and I am absolutely loving Lucinda Green’s commentary. She manages to be insightful as well as amazingly positive.
Random musings -
Love Spain’s shadbellies - the grey works so well with many horse colors.
Interesting that there is no penalty for substitution in dressage though it makes sense since all the phases of the competition pretty much stand alone.
I don’t recall ever hearing before about Isabel Wirth’s lucky boots - she has apparently been wearing them in big competitions since 1991, and they have no zippers!
The center line sequences in the GP Special are really fun to watch.
Loved seeing the, um, “aged” faces in the medal ceremony - just so cool that you can still be at the top of the sport in your 50s and that men and women compete on absolutely equal footing.
My cable guide, that frequently lies, claims at 2:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Central on Wednesday the 28th they will have the final for the dressage Grand Prix on NBC Sports channel. The preceding sports event might run over though, they seem to do that pretty often.
